September 3, 200321 yr Author comment_48463 Yeah, this one is not staying. As much as I hate seeing a Z go to the crusher, this one is out of my league and desire as far as custom fabrication is concerned. This one broke my heart as the car was gorgeous when it was complete and the idiot who owned it could not, and did not have any motivation to fix the issue which I could have done very easily for him. he wanted to fix it himself. I since have banned him from ever owning another Z again. September 3, 200321 yr Author comment_48465 I want to add one thing....let this one be an example on quality of your work. the floors in this car and the battery box were repaired about 8 years ago. Granted this one has been sitting about that long, however the work wasn't correctly rust proofed and it was a rushed job. Take the time to do it right and this won;t happen to your car. I only paid 2 hundred for the car but it breaks my heart to send it to the grave yard. I'll have to post a pic of it when I brought it home and cleaned her up. September 3, 200321 yr comment_48507 I saw a good piece still left on the car! Don't send it to the crusher yet! The rubber foot rest is still there and in good shape! Save it before it disappears! September 3, 200321 yr Author comment_48510 Kmack!! Maybe I should put the shell on ebay and just claim "some rust in the floors and frame rails". I think I've seen equivilant listings on there before. Theres one I can think of right now that involves two datsun trucks that have trees growing through the engine compartments Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7724-some-pics-to-share/?&page=2#findComment-48510 Share on other sites

September 10, 200321 yr Author comment_49342 This one left the driveway last night on a flatbed to great graveyard in the sky. Kmack, I found I needed that rubber footrest pad and it was salvaged! the guy was going to tow it for free, however it ended up costing me 50 bucks to get it taken away as well....you can see the condition Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7724-some-pics-to-share/?&page=2#findComment-49342 Share on other sites
September 10, 200321 yr comment_49344 I'm curious. How heavy is that shell? How many guys to lift it? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7724-some-pics-to-share/?&page=2#findComment-49344 Share on other sites
September 10, 200321 yr comment_49346 When I stripped mine to bare, My neighbor and I picked the shell up and carried it to my driveway. It was not light, nor was it a comfortable load for 2 large men, but that's all I had. Although It did have a lot more metal than Stephen's!Wow! seeing your car is making me feel guilty for sending that 72 shell to the scrapers. The poor car didn't even get a shot at the junk yard, it went straight to the metal recycler.Of course every nut, bolt, line and fitting are in my spare parts hoard, so maybe she lives on in spirt. September 11, 200321 yr Author comment_49403 Yeah my buddy and I were able to move the shell WITH the trans, and complete rear suspension still attached. Like victor said, it;s not easy nor comfortable however not impossible. The bare shell was really not heavy at all with the suspension and trans out. It's just an awkward thing to carry. four guys and a couple of beers and you could walk that thing around the block with a beer in hand.
