NOS and triple webers?

Reasonable?:cross-eye

Nope, none that I can think of... you'd almost have to have a NOS fogger nozzle in each of the intake runners downwind of the carbs. Unless you used an airbox such as TWM has and then you could put the nozzle in the airbox, but then, you might not get even distribution to all the carbs.:ermm:

If you had FI it would be simple....

That would probably be the biggest issue.. of course, then you've got to find a way to mount the throttle trigger switch, and plumb the system.

Then there is always the issue of enough fuel, but that all depends on how much NOS you are going to use...

And then there could be an issue of jetting of the carbs at WOT with the NOS on.. whether or not you would have the right amount of fuel to mix with the NOS so you don't end up burning a piston........you would probably need quite a bit richer mixture when the NOS is on... and would that affect the carbs mixtures when under normal driving? Or would this system have the nozzle that feeds fuel and NOS at the same time? If so, then you'd have to not only plumb in 6 nozzles for the NOS, but you'd also have to plumb up another fuel system for the nozzles.....

Lot's of "ifs".....no real answers from me cuz I don't know that I would want to try to figure it out... especially by the trial and error method.. could get expensive....:cross-eye

Sounds tricky. I saw this kit at Jegs:

http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=3786&prmenbr=361

It says it has a system that adds the correct ratio of fuel and N20 I think that is the only way to do it, or otherwise it would mess with normal driving. I don't want to change the jets, just add a separate fuel / nitrous assembly. I have never dealt with this system before but it sounds like it might work.

That looks to be one of the systems that puts fuel and NOS into the nozzle, which would make it a lot simpler. You'd only have to plumb another fuel line to supply the solenoids that control the fuel flow to the nozzle......perhaps you'd have to run a seperate line from the tank..that I don't know...

Only thing you have to think about now is the rest of the driveline, can it hold up to an extra 150+HP? And do you have the ignition that can hold up to the demands this system would need? I didn't read all the specs on your car on your site.. but that's something else you'd have to consider as well.:ermm:

Only time I've ever been around nitrous oxide was in the dentist's office....LOL :cross-eye

I am thinking of getting a R4 diff and 5 speed. As for the ignition I have a MSD 6AL, pertronix inside a mallory distributor. I think the MSD system should be fine, i hope.

I don't know If I am really going to do the N20, but the thought of it all is very entertaining!

thanks for your help

Nitrous Works, Edelbrock, TNT, and a few others offer wet systems, Fuel/NOS, with 50,75,100+ shot kits and nozzles that seem safer. There are other things to help too, like low fuel pressure cutoff switches, detination sensors, exhaust temp. sensors, timing retard switches, progressive switches. . . Get your self some NOS Do & Don't books, call some NOS shops then filter out all the BS and probably get a proven system that has been used by others, and not design one on your own.

Your ride looks like you have some nice power under the hood now. Are you wanting to go pick on some V8s or planning to rebuild soon? Lots of people learn how much squeeze their motor can take then they rebuild it again with some nitrous happy parts inside that can survive.

Good luck,

I too enjoy the thought of my other car, a Formula Firebird, having that little more RWHP!

:D

Hey Jason,

J.F.Y.I., I was thumbing thru the MSA mini parts catalog and noticed on the inside cover there are books listed there. One of the books was "Sport Compact Nitrous Injection" $19.95, it may have good insite for the Z since a Z parts house in selling this nitrous book? Oh well, just passing it on to ya, later.

I seen that book the other day (or at least one like it) when I was getting my "Restoring your Z" book. It actually had a lot of info in it and might be well worth it for anyone looking to get nitrous for any application.
