Posted January 24, 200223 yr comment_2336 Has anyone ever tried doing a search on "fairlady Z .jp" you get some mad sites up from Japan. I used Altavista's babblefish to translate the pages. Look at this: I think its for the L series. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/782-mad-parts-from-japan/ Share on other sites

January 26, 200223 yr comment_2460 Here's a useless tidbit. It may be a myth, but it makes for a good story. When the Z car was coming out.The head of Datsun's favorite play was "My Fairlady" That's why the first Z's were called "Fairlady".As datsun thought of sending it to the USA they realized that "Fairlady was not a very macho name for the U.S. The work order number for the manufacture and production of the car was 240Z.The rest is history as they say. January 26, 200223 yr Author comment_2461 He he... Yes very true. The Z32 TT's in Japan were still called Fairlady's, carrying on the tradition. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/782-mad-parts-from-japan/#findComment-2461 Share on other sites
January 28, 200223 yr comment_2486 Reminds me of the Hillborn fuel injection systems you used to see on the top fuel cars in the late 60's. Or were they Enderle? Whichever, looks pretty cool. I'd like to know what is lurking under that valve cover, or does it just look huge due to the camera angle?? March 5, 200223 yr comment_3617 All of the early roadsters were called Fairlady in Japan. I believe from about 1962 (1200) on. I know that the 1965 1600 roadster I had in Okinawa was a Fairlady, although at that time, we were still driving on the right side of the road. When they converted the whole island to the left side is another story. Now it's like anywhere else in Japan. April 24, 200222 yr comment_6072 And when you are done drooling over that pic, take an hour or two to look at the rest of the Z pics on the site. Plenty of sweet rides, just get a towel first so you won't have to clean up afterwards!:tapemouth Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/782-mad-parts-from-japan/#findComment-6072 Share on other sites
