hey how bad was the impact about the news in Australia?

I know here in the U.S. it was on t.v. every day for about 4 months, and they still bring it up every other day.

We had a lot of coverage, almost 24 hour for a few weeks.

Sadly even more coverage probably than the Bali bombings which had a much more direct impact on us.

Mate, the TV news STILL shows the aircraft slamming into the towers whenever the subject is terrorism.

I think it's fair to say that practically everyone down here was in shock. The degree depended on personal circumstances. A good mate of mine is an ex pat yank and the news hit him pretty hard.

I guess because he's a mate and the fact that I've been in a position to know and like a lot of you septic tanks deepened the sense of shock I felt.

This still hits us pretty hard especially since I live 40 minutes from NYC in Jersey. many of my friends and co-workers either work, or know someone that works in the city and there were many that worked in the WTC buildings that made it out.

it still leaves me in utter disbeleif.

Nice! Those guys are great! Pauls car, the 76 is absolutely a gorgeous work of art. although, I'm not a huge fan of the california style wire wheels, its still a very impressive ride.

I find it vary hard getting by the mind set of the Bali bomber and those that are calling for a " holy " war. In the name of God how can murdering weomen and children be concidered a holy thing. How can a people get so twisted. I am really getting jaded here and loosing patience with these vermin. Gary, retired L.A. Fireman

Only a religious fanatic could understand the twisted mind of another fanatic.

Like you, I also find it hard to understand how the slaughter of innocent women and children can be seen as a means to an end, especially when your religion's holy book stresses love for your neighbour.
