Posted September 11, 200321 yr comment_49452 Needs a wiring harness for the fuel injectors. They had a recall on this model and this one did not get updated as well as I can tell. I've been told the part cost about $100. The plugs load up with gas and flood out. This is a description of a '82 280ZX (Turbo) that is for sale. The current owner doesn't really know what it needs.I know there are two different harnesses. Does this sound like it needs the fuel injector wiring harnesses (the ones that go to the individual injectors) or the entire engine compartment wiring harness? What does it sound like to you? Thanks for any and all help.GG Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7871-does-this-sound-right/ Share on other sites
September 11, 200321 yr comment_49466 GG,The recall that they may be thinking of applies to 300ZX's, not the 280ZX. There is no injector or injector harness recall for a 280ZX that I am aware of.It would be common for the injector harness wiring connectors to be cracked/loose/broken, but it's not covered by a recall. You can pick up new wiring pigtails for the injectors fairly cheap. There seem to be a lot of those on ebay lately.First thing I can think of to cause a 280ZX to flood so easily would be a poor/dirty connection at the cylinder head temp sensor. That's a cheap and easy fix, but there could be plenty of other things that could be more expensive. Hard to tell without knowing more or seeing it.Hope it helps.Chloe Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7871-does-this-sound-right/#findComment-49466 Share on other sites
September 11, 200321 yr comment_49479 GG's Z, I am not familiar with the 82 turbo, or the loom change out bulletin. With piston washing overfuel, I would check fuel pressure regulator, If it is using the same fuel pressure regulator as other L series engine management systems, you could have a vacuum pot failure ( split or disconnected vac hose) this failure will cause excess fuel flow at idle.cheersSteve:classic: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/7871-does-this-sound-right/#findComment-49479 Share on other sites
