Freind got hurt

Hi

Just for a little background

I started my 240Z restoration as a high school project in autobody/restoration class three years ago.

I have had my engine sitting at my high school. since I started my extended restoration.

My brother and I decided to finally bring it home this morning.

So we went to rent a van

When we got there, Budget only had one van available. And there was another person, Kevin Taylor who wanted the van for a whole day. We decided together that if he gave us a hand for an hour we would pay for half of his rental fee.

We where lifting the motor into the cube van and I guess one of the wheels on the engine stand snagged on the lip of the flatbed.

and fell over. And kevin, I guess from reflexes went to grab it.

The 1 inch vent tube that sticks out from the side of the block landed square on his middle finger. The pipe basicly severed his finger. His wife was told that he might loose it. not good if your a carpenter.

We did basicly get the engine home. Because his employees needed the van. but every time I see it I feel uneasy.

Kevin was just being a good samaritan and he got hurt

for no reason. I can't describe how sorry I am.

Just thought I should share.

Thanks Ahmed

You never know though, my uncle has been told three times now "We mean it this time, you cut your finger too bad and will lose it". They have not been right yet. He is also a tradesman who has caught his fingers on saws but still has all of his. Goodluck.

na, now thats crap!!. what sort of f*** tard does that?!! it was his own damn fault, and, with any luck, it probably wont go anywhere in court if the truth comes out that he did it himself . Thats like breaking a tow on a table cause you walked into it and sueing the manifacturer cause the edge was hard.

He is really after Budget and the schoolboard, you, your brother, and the janitor probably cant scrape enough net worth together to convince his laywer that he would get paid for his time.. If the facts of the case come out, the judge will see that Kevin went to grab it of his own free will, and was not coerced, pressured, or made to by anyone but himself. His decisions led him to split the rental fee, and to take responsability and liability for helping(He agreed to lend the van, and a hand if you paid him). He provided and accepted the van by entering into a rental agreement with Hertz and leaving the lot with it.. If neither the van or the wheel of the engine stand were defective, or in a state of dissrepair. all parties other than he provided an adequet level of care. If this happened as restated here, in Georgia, I would say that Kevin would be paying court costs and the collective plantifs legal costs for a good while, and that his lawyer would probably be publically repremanded in the court record for presenting a trivial case and wasting the courts, the plantifs, and the jurrys time. But then we have Judges who will eat a roach to protect CocaCola from the stupid crap some lawyers lawyers will try when going after a big fish.

What, he said he'd give you a HAND. He should be happy he only lost a finger.

Just trying to lighten the mood mate, not as if this isn't a serious issue. Will said it all... it's terrible that we live in a time where no one can take responsibility for themselves.
