Posted September 20, 200321 yr comment_50421 As part of my continuing fascination with WHO owns Z cars and WHAT they do with them....... I am guessing this thing comes out basically a cross-section of society. It might even be weighted a tiny bit to the lower end. How many other collector groups of vintage automobiles can say that? This should be secure...I can't imagine Admin having anyway of tracing a poll vote.steve77 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8011-income-poll/ Share on other sites
September 21, 200321 yr comment_50448 I am just a poor broke student, and can happily admit that nearly every cent I made in my holiday job went straight onto the Z, the 1600 and a mini (we all make mistakes) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8011-income-poll/#findComment-50448 Share on other sites
September 21, 200321 yr comment_50450 I fit the 10 - 25 k bracket doesn't help when trying to restore the car, but it's the best I can do being a Uni student at the moment unfortunately . September 21, 200321 yr comment_50459 put us in the 40-60 range, now that Jenna doesn't work anymore. well, the twins definitely keep her busy, but she doesn't get paid to take care of them.anyway, regardless of HOW MUCH we make, I've found that my money now goes ALOT farther since I don't have to make a CA house payment, or pay $2 a gallon for gas !!!Steve, if we could move the CCZCC and all our Zs to Omaha, life would be perfect ! no smog test for those curious (or worried) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8011-income-poll/#findComment-50459 Share on other sites
September 21, 200321 yr comment_50465 We gotta bring this poll back after the economy rebounds...... I wonder how many of us have taken significant pay losses because of the recession. I know we have...... about a 50% pay loss and that ain't fun. September 21, 200321 yr comment_50492 I have been pretty lucky and my income has remained steady. I'm not saving much at the moment - spending it on the Z. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8011-income-poll/#findComment-50492 Share on other sites
September 22, 200321 yr comment_50501 I'm staying here hiding at the University. I managed to go from private industry to the university just as the economy dumped. No raises to speak of, but things are pretty stable. Knock on wood... September 22, 200321 yr comment_50519 Seems we get paid about the same as you guys over here in the UK but our fuel is US$5.70 a gallon.!!!!I'm spending on 2 z's at the moment. Somehow I feel better having those bits than the money in the bank, so I must be truly Z obsessed.:classic: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8011-income-poll/#findComment-50519 Share on other sites
September 22, 200321 yr comment_50521 I was layed off last Decemeber and was lucky to start a new job in January. I'm in the IT field in St. Louis and took a 35% paycut. That's the main reason my Z's are sitting there collecting dust. September 22, 200321 yr comment_50523 So far, it's how you expected it, pretty broad with a median of the middle'n. I fit dead center on that bell curve. Seems strange to me, with the life I've lead, to end up with a job, house and vintage car hobby. Who'd thought the 70's doper kid would made good?I'm rediscovering my Roadster this week. WOW! what a f'n ride! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8011-income-poll/#findComment-50523 Share on other sites
September 22, 200321 yr comment_50551 I'm in industrial equipment sales (big ticket CNC machine tools), so I've been all over that scale!Early to mid-90's: I was sure that I'd be able to retire by the time I was 45... and lived like it (country club, Lexus, Saab, lots of pricey travel). All with a stay-at-home Mom in the house.Late 90's: things started to get ugly (While Clinton was still in office... It's not Bush.)2000 to present: surviving! (good thing the stay-at-home Mom is my alter-ego when it comes to frugality!)Like everyone else, 401K is now a 200.5K.
