Lights on reminder

I'd like to know if anybody has a good idea or gizmo for letting you know to turn your lights OFF? I don't want to be stuck somewhere with no juice.

You mean remember to turn your lights OFF I assume. I bought a little headlight ON buzzer from NAPA auto parts for about $6 that buzzes when your headlights are on and you turn the ignition off. However, it doesn't work if you just have your running lights on. Maybe that's just a wiring adjustment that I didn't take time to investigate. The buzzer is very small and I mounted it just outside the fuse box. It comes with clips that install easily into the fuse box. Victor.

You shouldn't install this buzzer on the fusebox of an S30 car because the fuses are always hot, like the ones for the hgeadlights, so the buzzer would always be on. It would only work on a car thatswitches on the +12V leg of the circuit, and not the ground leg. So that means you'll need to find a place inside the car to hook into a dash light (like the heater control light) and an switched source for the ignition.

I think I just answered the question I was going to ask... (where to hook in) You've got the heater controls light and maybe one from a switched radio power supply line. Test the hookup first before making it permanent.

If you could provide a photo of the fuse box without cover and showing the connections of the little "gizmo" that would be very useful.

It worked for me like how Tanny told you. If my memory works, I'll look at how mine is wired when I get home.

How would you connect it o the fusebox with clips, and still be able to remove those fuses? Would a female blade connector work instead of the clips?

Actually, I took the terminals off the wires of the buzzer, placed the bare wire around the fuse, and put the fuse back in.

I used the wiper fuse and right headlight fuse to work. The wiper circuit is not hot all of the time.

Another idea would be to rig the lights to switch off automatically when the key goes into the off position. I had a 1975 Fiat Spider with this convenience. Just a idea.
