Posted September 24, 200321 yr comment_50750 Does anyone have any ideas on how to go about tightening up the slop in the throttle linkage (attached to the firewall then onto the manifold) on a 240? I can't seem to find replacement parts in the MSA or Victoria British catalog. (but, then maybe I'm just blind or missing them!!) Is "shimming" my only option? Thanks!!!Dan Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8061-240z-throttle-linkage-slop/ Share on other sites
September 24, 200321 yr comment_50754 Are you missing the nylon bushes in the throtte cam which rides on the post mounted on the firewall? You might find replacements at a Hardware store. September 24, 200321 yr comment_50757 One option is to go to the junkyard and grab the linkage from a 280Z. The later linkages engage with less slop at the firewall. Also, they bolt right up in the same place as the 240 linkage. If you go this route, get everything from the donor car from the cross-piece (parallel to the firewall) to the long piece that goes from the firewall to the manifold. -Steve Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8061-240z-throttle-linkage-slop/#findComment-50757 Share on other sites
September 24, 200321 yr comment_50770 If you are looking for NOS parts, check with Chloe at Midwest Z. She is very resourceful in getting scarce parts. I have also gotten linkage parts from Too Intense Restorations.Good luck,Martyhttp://www.restorezone.50megs.com/http://www.midwestz.com/ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8061-240z-throttle-linkage-slop/#findComment-50770 Share on other sites
