brianglawson Posted October 1, 2003 Share #1 Posted October 1, 2003 Well im thinking of doing a kind of vintage race car look, and i wanna do it like someone would build a performance car back in 1972, you know twice pipes, triple wbers and such, and well im looking for some wheels that were around in that period that would fit it, prefferably in black. Can anyone give me a hand??? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8167-vintage-racing-wheels/ Share on other sites
Victor Laury Posted October 1, 2003 Share #2 Posted October 1, 2003 When did American Racing Libras come out? Were they a early seventys wheel or later?I don't remmeber Minilights being popular in the states untill 77ish.The roadsters wore a spoked Empi wheel in the late 60'sThis photo of Bob Sharp's Car at Mid Ohio 1974 looks like Watanabe's to me.http://racingsportscars.t35.com:8000/photo/1974/Mid-Ohio-1974-06-30-033.jpg Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8167-vintage-racing-wheels/#findComment-51561 Share on other sites
26th-Z Posted October 1, 2003 Share #3 Posted October 1, 2003 I believe you will find American Racing Libras on the early BRE 240's. They were silver. If black is what you are looking for, I would definately suggest a Watanabe wheel.
