Indecent proposal

Now that I have your attention, who would be interested by a French tour, behind the wheel of a nice condition Z or ZX? I am asking all our American, or Australian fellows Z lovers.

I was thinking in setting up such a tour, you see I just love my country, and our Z and I enjoy sharing its beauty and treasure. I was thinking of theme tour, like all the French famous racetracks and famous Rallying roads… One week memories for a lifetime!

Truely an indecent proposal for someone like myself who loves Europe. DON"T TEMPT ME!!!! Your idea could be too much fun! I need to pour money into my restoration at the moment, but the next time I make plans to visit, I will look you up. Perhaps LeMans 2004? We'll see.

For all of you who have never been to Europe or might have hesitations about going; this is the way to do it. With a friend who speaks the language - knows the ropes - and knows how to make arrangements. France is beautiful, the food is superb, wine, history. Who could ask for more? The Euro is about 1 to 1, so money is easy to understand. Great Idea!

How much for a tour:) I could do such in finland? Maybe we need to establish z-tour operator in Europe? :) Well I only have one Z..

But i do have one 510, one 65 mustang and Ofcourse I could arrange couple more z's....

Anyways Caen. How near Paris is LaRochelle? I tried to loook from Viamichelin and got too many alternatives.... I am going to Boston and have one day to spend in Paris. We will be in paris on 6.1.2004 in the morning. And we have a day in Paris when we come back on 17.1.2004. Any chance you have time and live near? Just a wild idea?!? Maybe worth exploring?

I have been making these tours to Germany to buy some cars and I am going to germany on next week too. Cars are too damn expensive here...Last time I brougt a -90 Gorrado g60...Still driving it and waiting for a decision about the tax...

I have no idea of the cost yet, I only know that I would do that on a Pal basis, meaning that I wouldn't charge a close friend, and that Z lovers ARE close friends. It depends of what each wants. Campsite, Nice small hotel, luxury... you name it I get it!

La Rochelle is about 500 km south/west of Paris, right in the midle of the atlantic coast.

I like your idea. I think I would do the same for any z guy/girl in finland... Maybe not in the winter time though. I dont drive my z in salty winter roads..But I would certainly like to meet and show places. I could even accommodate couple of people in my house. So keep this in your mind if yoy are coming to finland some day:) I live in Joensuu which is situated in eastern finland. www.jns.fi is the adress to see...

My wife allways laughs at me when i am so exited to maybe see some new people that I have just got to know via internet... But I think that what the heck we are here just for a one life time so why not to get know people that have similar spirit, hobbies. There is a good possibility to have some discussion:) Who knows how good a friend you could find?

I was just wondering your distance from Paris because the spare time between the flights. 500 km is a bit too much:)

When I come France for longer time I sure contact you and maybe we can find time to meet.. And keep in mind that my doors are always open for nice z people..

The last time I flew to Europe it was $750 round trip per person from New York to Dusseldorf and that was a big discount. I rented an Opel for two weeks - $500 and put over 2000 miles on it. We drove from Dusseldorf down to Mainz and then to Trier, Reims, Rouen, Caen, Carentan and then back through Chartres, Strasbourg, Karlsruhe, Heidelberg, and Mainz. We stayed in a hotel in Reims but camped everywhere else in a tent. I spent a fortune on gas. Hotel rooms ran around $70 per night for something an American would find quaint and camp sites for a tent were $5. Camping in Europe is completely different from America, usually on the property of some 16th century chateau (beautiful), however we did manage to find some "seedy" sites along the coast of Normandy. We usually stopped at a grocery store toward the end of the day for some wine and cheese and bread before setting up our tent. Set the bottle in a stream to chill and enjoy the late evening talking with other travelers - mostly Brits. Most camp sites have full bathrooms and showers, laundromats, etc. all within walking distance of some little village with bars and cafe's. I cannot emphasize how much fun it was meeting people and living the Euro life even though we were rich Americans on vacation. I spent a bunch of money, but I will never forget all the adventures and how much I learned about how the rest of the world lives. We are pretty lucky - Americans. You have a great idea, Caen Fred. How much do you think it would be to ship my car over for a couple of weeks?
