I thought the price was quite reasonable given the mods and the total body restoration. I guess I am a modifier myself so I have a different perspective halz. Might help if I saw the car too :D

Keep working on your friend Gav. Like you, if I bought another Z I would definitely spend a lot more and get one in better nick. Not that mine was too bad, just run down. I'd swear that every previous owner only did just enough to keep it on the road.

Completely agree with you, I had a 260z that im sure had only the basics done to keep it running. I replaced the struts in it for the first time in 25 years of it's life they were the oil filled struts yikes.

I'll keep working on him but that's if he wants a Z in the end of it all he may save the money and want something newer as you know an old Z isn't for everyone.

Ok there was "was" a 260z for sale in the quakka for $55 bare shell.

theres also a totally restored 280zx for 4,999 plus some other 280zx's...

so if any of u perth guys see a cheap 280zx for $0-$500 thats straight give me a holler ;)
