While looking for Suby LSD's at the junkyard, the owner mentioned, "Why don't you put a Corvette rear end in it? I've seen a couple Z's like that. It's quite a bit lighter."

I didn't ask for proof, just kindof 'filed' the info and moved on. I have never seen such a transplant. Perhaps this is a common mod on V8 Z's? Has anyone seen or done a Corvette diffy install?

I've seen this over on hybridz. Not a simple swap. Major fabrication required. On the plus side, I bet the diff gear ratio is better suited to the kind of power you get from a V8 swap than the Datsun diffs.

it's been done, but people didn't swap in just the diff, but the complete irs = from brake calipers to half shafts. major fabrication required, you may want search for scottie gnz's info on hybridz. he successfully installed this.
