Posted October 8, 200321 yr comment_52459 Cowboys spend a lot of time on the range, whatever a range may be, whiling away their hours moseying and giddyuping. But mostly moseying. While they're doing all that moseying, they often come up with gems of wisdom we would all do well to heed. Don't squat with your spurs on.Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.Always drink upstream from the herd.Letting the cat out of the bag is a whole lot easier than putting it back in.There's two theories to arguing with a woman. Neither one works. If you're riding ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there. If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.Never drop your gun to hug a grizzly. If you get to thinking you're a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else's dog around.Never kick a cow chip on a hot day. When you give a lesson in meanness to a critter or a person, don't be surprised if they learn their lesson.Never slap a man who's chewing tobacco. When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.
