Stumbled upon a good deal (maybe). Here is the scoop:

1978 280z: black primered, floor pan rust, new tires, new front air dam, new carpet, runs 'as good as a top'. 5 speed 2.8, stock.

1974 260z: stripped down, solid body, supposedly no rust. Chassis has bigger sway bars, lowering springs, LSD. Body has an aftermarket air dam.

Also included: (3) 2.8 engines, 1 with a thrown rod. (3) 4 speed transmissions. 1 set of 4 wheels. (2) sets of headers. Other miscellaneous parts.

Total: $950.

Whats the scoop...do I go for it?

Depends on how much rust you find poking around in both cars.....

If the 260 is the better of the two, you could take parts from the 280 to build that up, and sell off some of the other parts you don't need and probably get you total investment down to 500 or so....

Guess a lot of it depends on if you have room to store the cars and parts, and whether 950 is "pocket change"..... if you have both of the above, go for it....

Forgot to add....the 260 also has 4 piston calipers. Yeah, I think that's what he said. Apparently the 260 has been around the block a few times. I have enough to afford the cars, I'm just kinda hesitant to buy. Im going to see them this Sunday, probably.
