The same guy with the 280zx 2 searter has a 240 or 260z minus engine and gearbox also. has been done up and is blue. (he's got about 18 z cars).

I think you are better off gettting a 240z or 260z 2 seater. Any money you spen on a 280zx you will never see again, and 280zx dont get the same respect a 240z or 260z.

I think you should drive both before deciding. I had a 2+2 it was a good car in many ways it went ok i could fit 4 guys in it but it wasn't like the 2 seater. The 2 seater is sexier lighter and the early 240z's will always be in my opinon the most fun.

I like the Dash the rear lights and the early SU's.

You have to drive them to compare them I feel the weight of a 2+2 over the 2 seater but the 240Z with skinny tires feel very light.

The good thing about 2+2's is there so much cheaper than the 2 seaters and therefore cheap for a good condition one.

Like Victor said I'd buy a 4 seater for the 4 seats rather than a 2 seater car originally adapted for the extra seating. There is really not much room.

I guess what i'm trying to say is from having owned a 2+2 I wouldn't own another unless I still have a 2 seater tucked away somewhere.:ermm:

Well I own a 2+2 and talk heaps with a guy who has a 2 seater. Rips mine off for being a family car. Personally I say each to their own. Bodyweight isn't that much more, and you get more cabin space. (god knows how you fit anyone big then little kids or cute small little teenagers in the back seat. Plus fold front seats down and I can sleep in my car stretched out (when drunk unexpectedly and in town.). Thats extra foot of length makes a big difference.

I sat mine next to one of his and I prefer the longer body of the 2+2. Personal choice, and I'm not sure what you mean by hump in the roof cause it just doesn't slop down as aggressively as the coupe.

That aside, I take my 2+2 on some highspeed runs (hill climbs, night runs through twisty areas etc) and at the moment its stock down to even original sized tyres (in the handling department), and I managed to keep it up with a more experienced driver using a MX5.

Besides if your like me, the 2+2 is becoming a 2 seater, back seat going, building a chest that looks like the back seats folded down to put in the spot for storage and so the back is kept clear and flat still, auto is being pissed off for a manual (sitting in shed as I type) etc.

I bought a 2+2 260z for the "childs perspective reason", but the 260z engine was less intersting than the 240z one.

My 260z 2+2 have the Janspeed turbo kit that give it 200 CV, that make the difference, and if there wasn't this kit sure i would prefer to buy a 240z and modifie with tripple weber.

About the look i notice that the 260z 2+2 was better in real view than picture view and the hump on the roof is not so bad in real view.

Another thing to think, is that body repear part are not the same (for the rear) and some don't exist or are difficult to find....

I have a 260z 2+2 .

I'm about to take the Big angle grinder and cut it up into pieces :)

Its rusty as. Big holes in the floor. etc.

I only bought it for the front guards and the gearbox. I'll keep the suspension and diif, and put the engine in my 240 untill I rebuild the L24. or find an L28.

Going to cut it up into pannels, roof rear guards, sills.

Noticed today that the canssis number was different to the compliance plate, and different again to the nissin id plate. Strange how the car has 3 different chassis numbers. Something fishy going on ther i think. Engine number is different too, but thats common enough. chassis numbers shoud match though.

I guess thats 3 260z that we can write off as deceased, just from the one car.
