Between 1988 and 1990 I used to travel between Buffalo, NY and Northern NJ in my first Z, a 1977 280Z (see gallery) that eventually succumed to a UPS truck (see gallery).

I traveled along the route, usually at high speed, and was only pulled over a few times in a few years. On one occassion, I was pulled over in/near Owego, if I recall correctly.

My current Z in progress, previously lived near Owega. Just outside Binghampton in a town called Harpersville.

Perhaps my Z knew your Z?

Wow...2 people here that know where owego is? Sure you're not thinking of oSwego? ;)

Even people who live around the area...you mention owego and get this blank look....

and NJ Larry - ouch, saw the pic....that car didn't really hold up too well, did it? (but its hard to say, how fast was the truck going?). Thats like the third of forth story I've heard recently of one of those big brown trucks really doing a number on a classic.

Don't think our Z had ever met...in fact, I've never even seen another z around here at all. Only Zs I've ever set eyes on in NY are mine.

JEFF - well, thank you, glad everything worked OK. And for the record, JEFF was a pleasure to do buisness with as well.

Uh, Oswego is up on the lake.... big difference.......

You know where Unadilla, Sidney, Bainbridge, Andes, Walton, Gilbertsville, New Berlin, South Kortright, and all those little towns are? That's where my folks are from... and where the major portion of our relatives still live.

My Dad is buried in Unadilla right alongside I-88 and I've got a plot up there myself... yup, born a Yankee, planted as a Yankee....:ermm:

Owego, just NW of Binghampton on 17... I recall, I was pulled over at the Owego exit...

Luckily, I wasn't driving the Z when it was T-boned... the hit occured after I sold it.

BTW, got any other parts for a 71? and, happen to know if 73 bumps can be fitted to a 71?

73 bumpers could fit a 71, but you'd have to use the 73 style bumpers mounts that would push the bumper out from the body, then you'd want the rubber filler pieces to make it look right.

Most people do the swap the other way around, 71 style on 73 cars to make them look "cleaner"....
