October 19, 200321 yr comment_53713 It will fit, how long the engine last with 10+ compression ratio is the question! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8453-will-head-fit/#findComment-53713 Share on other sites

October 19, 200321 yr comment_53717 If you have a turbo engine, you won't have to worry about the compression. The turbo engines have dished pistons and the compression will probably be more in the neighborhood of 9:1 with an E-31. No problems.According to the engine calculator, your compression should come in somewhere between 8-8.75:1 depending on which head gasket you use. October 19, 200321 yr comment_53719 I'm not much of a turbo guy, but they but everything I've read says that they tend to run very low compression compaired to NA cars. I would think that once the boost comes on you wouldn't get around the block... October 19, 200321 yr comment_53722 Before you get too excited, which head is on the Turbo? The P90? The P-90 is already one of the best flowing heads due to it's being used with the Turbo, so if you are keeping th FI and Turbo, the E-31 won't help you much, if at all. Plus, with the Turbo, you're gonna run into trouble with detonation at 9:1 more than likely. 9:1 is right on the borderline with a Turbo. Which means even more work and money. You might be better off to spend your money on an intercooler. October 19, 200321 yr comment_53724 The E-31 is an early 240Z head, NA and will produce probably the highest compression ratios available using a stock head.Around the block, Hmmmmm, pull it out of the driveway, kick it in the A$$ and call a tow truck to get home....
