p90a head on l24 block?

Iy will fit but I'm unsure that the compression ratio will be what you are after.

There is a link to a compression program somewhere on this site. Try doing a search function above....or maybe someone could place the link on a reply.

For memory the P90a was used on turbo L28 ZX's of 83. So it is my guess that the compression ratio will be low.

my aim is to turn this into a turbo motor and the low compression is what I want to do. I am even considering slightly milling the head to raise it slightly to around 8:1. Isn't the p90a the early 83 head without the hydraulic lifters? Thanks y'all I appreciate the info. anything else you can provide will be appreciated.:classic:

I dont know why or where people think the P90a is a bad head, if you think so then I think you may want to talk to jeff priddy. He is making at last dyno 458 horses to the REAR WHEELS with the P90a head.

So if its not a good head then I guess something must be wrong here huh.

The P90a is a good head, its quiet and nothing is wrong with the hydraulic lifters. No adjusting, quiet and they CAN BE REBUILT!!!

Go with it and make what you want.

I say its a good choice!

A few people that I have talked to keep telling me that it is not possible to build a fuel injected l24 turbo with a p90 head why can't it be done? it seems like an ideal way to go. low compression, good stroke ratios why wouldn't it work. wouldn't the intake manifold from a fuel injected 280 fit to the head?

Yes the p-90a can make great HP numbers, yes it can be rebuilt when a lifter goes bad, but I am not paying for it...And BTW if you can figure out how to get it to make power after 6k rpm.....let me know....there are quite a few engineers that cant solve that one.

Thats why they invented Variable Valve Timing
