1 tuff z Posted October 29, 2003 Share #1 Posted October 29, 2003 hey all, just acquired a new parts car. it's a 72 240z. 40,300 actual miles. the car was purchased in taiwan by a navy serviceman, shipped back here to ny in 77 and driven in one of our winters-then parked. the oxidation process slowly did it's job and left the exterior in a decrepid state. the interior is fairly untouched. perfect dash, console, near new fuse block & cover, original working radio [i tested it last nite] and mint faceplate, heater control panel, interior panels, dome light, map light, lock set [with both original keys]. i'm slowly removing all the useable parts, then bringing them into my basement where i'll clean them up and...sell most to support my own z habit. need any parts, shoot me an email. i'd rather not ship the dash but... MikeW Posted October 29, 2003 Share #2 Posted October 29, 2003 I know you said to shoot you an e-mail but I don't see a problem discussing this in the open. I'd love the locks and keys, assuming they're in good shape (and with such low mileage they probably aren't too worn). I could also use the heater control panel as I broke mine trying to get the dash out (it was already cracked all the way through on one side). 1 tuff z Posted October 29, 2003 Author Share #3 Posted October 29, 2003 mike, i don't have all the locks out yet [glovebox, doors, hatch & ign] but they all appear to be in good shape. there's some surface rust on the ign face. the keys are like new. i haven't gotten to the heater control panel, but it looks like it's going to clean up nice. the last one i sold on ebay went for $140-but that was awhile ago.
