Light turn signal switch

To answer your original question:

The 70 to 71 and for the most part the 72 Z's did NOT have intermittent wipers. If the combo switch you bought has a 4th detent for the wiper (Off, Int, Low, High) then that switch is for a 73+ Z with the ubiquitous late 72 mixed in there. That is why the connectors won't mate, there aren't enough wires in your existing harness to accomodate all the features of the new switch.

Have you tried fixing the one you currently own? It is surprisingly easy, and as you pointed out, with the guys here, you'll get good advice quickly.

Trying to jump the wiper motor or switch may seem easy but believe me it isn't easy to do.

Disp: I don't know about the others, but I feel that the switch's seller's identity should be revealed. Not only did he refund your auction money, he refunded shipping?? That is exceptional. Knowing he's ethical is important for those of us who do shop on e-Bay on occasion.

His EbaY username is "240z2go" . He believes now that the switch is actually for a '76 and will be re-listing it this week. The confusion was created when a friend of his suggested that the switch would work with any model 70-77.

He is parting out his brother's Z for him, he doesn't know a lot about the car, but is very reasonable as explained earlier.

Anyone interested in contacting him personally can PM me for his info.

Look at the excellent photo on the post called--indicator switch and the note I added. You will wish to check this also as the trouble may not be the headlight switch or That area could be the next problem.--While your there.......

I'd lay you odds it isn't the switch, I have fixed connections to repair my low beams and my right turn signal and they were both in the connection boxes at the passengers feet; really smart to put those connections down by your girlfriends feet. PLEASE CHECK THESE CONNECTIONS FIRST!

This may be a new record, you have revived an almost 6 year old thread! Of the original posters above, at least one is deceased (RIP, Carl) and only one of the rest still visits here at all!

Please check the dates on the threads you read to make certain that a reply is appropriate.

Edit: E, you were more polite than I was...
