November 3, 200321 yr comment_55644 Have you swapped in a new fuse for that circuit? A fuse can look good and still be bad. Try a new one. Have you looked for a wire that might have gotten pinched in your installation of the radio? November 3, 200321 yr Author comment_55653 going to check the radio install after work tommorow, but the hazards would not work if the fuse was bad right? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8691-turn-signals/#findComment-55653 Share on other sites
November 3, 200321 yr comment_55656 My understanding is that the Hazards have a different "flasher unit", so I assume tha they are on a different circuit. Do your brake, and/or tail lights work? I think that they are on the same circuit as the signals, since they use the same bulbs.EDIT: :stupid: Err, wait a minute, the Hazzard's use those bulbs too, but as Zs-ondabrain indicates below one circuit is switched and the other is not. Guess I shouldn't type when sleepy Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8691-turn-signals/#findComment-55656 Share on other sites
November 3, 200321 yr comment_55657 Not neccessarily Xargon, the hazzards work wether the ignition is on or not,the turn signals only work if the ignition is on.therefor, that leads me to believe that they run off of two different power sources, a constant and a switched.like bambikiller said, "check yer fuses" use an ohms meter on them to be sure. or find a new fuse and replace the fuse in question.little known fact is, fuses don't always blow where the glass is, some fuses blow within the metal end caps and look "good" to the obvious onlooker, always test em"The voltmeter is our friend"!!!:classic: good luck,Dave. November 3, 200321 yr comment_55673 Check the plug behind the console below the dash on the right side. It's a 10 wire connector. Make sure all of the wires are making good contact. November 3, 200321 yr Author comment_55678 thats where im assuming the fault is in in that hazard connector but i will deffiatly check the fuse. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8691-turn-signals/#findComment-55678 Share on other sites
November 3, 200321 yr comment_55708 MAKE SURE YOUR HAZARD FLASHER SWITCH IS ALL THE WAY OFF!!!! TURN IT ON AND OFF A FEW TIMES THEN CHECK YOUR SIGNALS. These switches can hang up in between on and off. If it is not completely off the signals will not work. The power to the signals goes through the hazard switch. November 4, 200321 yr Author comment_55763 Well Fuse isent the culpret, change my hazard switch with one i got out of a old console, had it for a sec but then quit, Pulled the turn signal switch, and the ground wire for the head lamps falls off... resolder that got it back together, also got my horn working again as the contact wasent making contact with the horn pad...i cant tell if its the turn signal switch or the hazard switch. will check in a min to see if console harness is plugged in all the way with the main harness Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8691-turn-signals/#findComment-55763 Share on other sites

November 5, 200321 yr Author comment_55895 Need More help, i think its the hazard switch if i turn them on, then turn them off and hit the turn signal switch the flasher unit click once or twice but wont turn the lamps on, im sure that its the turn signal flasher clicking cause i had ahold of it and felt it click Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8691-turn-signals/#findComment-55895 Share on other sites
November 5, 200321 yr comment_55896 Try getting a schematic so you can trace it. Change the flasher if you haven't already. Get the schematic somewhere in this forum....do a search. I don't know if the CD sold here has it. Or buy a cheap manual..none of them are very good but may help.
