Yeah, I have to agree Alfadog, I'm from NZ but I've always thought it was a general ozzie/aussie exclamation, used when one can't believe what someone has done. When I think of it, it tends to be...

"STONE THE BLOODY CROWS, SHIELA! What the HELL did you do that for?!"

LOL You Australians. Always make me laugh.

Stone the crows Brett, I was born and bred in Sydney, cobber.

Crikey, You can't get more Aussie than running around the backstreets of Balmain where the Kultcha existed in ya face all day. Keep in mind that Balmain was only a stones throw from the CBD, the Rocks, the X (heh heh heh) and the wonderful domain where on a Sunday arvo you could listen to all and sundry on their soap boxes.

Us convicts I suppose spoke a different language to the rest of the country.

Thanks Alpha, at least they speak the bloody Queens english where you are:classic:

PS Brett - It can be a differnet language up here as an example they haven't heard of the saying "not sighted off Nobbys'".

I still find it difficult to order a "pot" of beer. I am still sticking to my guns with middy's and schooners:D

Ha, never saw my driving lights mount. Bull Bar was the best description until the scuts went to town on them.........

Aside this, it's always been apparent that each state had it's own foiables when it came to speach.

Whether it's a schooner, pot or pony it all goes down the same. ROFL

Cheers and it's your shout.

edit: left out "handle", anyone with any more?
