Hey zlovers!!!!!!!!!!

ok ive been thinking of puitting an RB26 into my 260z....

question is what mods will need to be made, to the engine, mounting brackets & everything else......

around what would this cost me to get done, with a 5 speed box put in at the same time?!?! im in south ozzy btw...

now this is all legal if im correct, but can i replace my engine with a turbo engine? (RB26 DETT has my attention) or will this need compiancing or any other tests or anything????

also im assuming that my genie 6-2-1 headers wont fit an rb26?!?! or am i worng there?

any other suggestions and comments would be appreciated....

thanks, mellow:stupid:

There is a member here who was put an RB26 into a 240, your best bet for advice on such a conversion from my understanding is www.hybridz.org .

Good luck with it though.

If you want to maintain RWD you'll have to get a 5speed from a RB25DET, you'll also either have to get custom mounting brackets made or ther are some that will fit it but not in the 'optimal' position.

But yes, as I said, best bet. hybridz.

I'm 99% sure that fitting an RB26DETT will require engineering here in SA. But don't take my word for it, ask the technical section at TSA Regency Park (1300 882 248).

An RB20DET will also probably require an engineers certificate, as I know that an RB25DE requires an AIP (approval in priciple), and that has 20kW less than an RB20DET.

For an RB26DETT conversion, you should budget around $10k for a 'basic' setup. An RB20/5DET could probably be done for around 1/2 that, and the RB20/5DE for a less again.

If you plan on using a non-turbo engine, then the RB25DE is really the only choice, as the RB20DE will have no more grunt than a very mild L28E.
