mwz Posted November 14, 2003 Share #2 Posted November 14, 2003 I wouldn't suspect a short. Check the simple stuff first. Make sure the battery is fully charged and the battery cable connections are nice and clean, and tight. Then try it again. There can be enough there to power the radio (like you said) but not enough for the big loads like headlights, and more importantly the starter:ermm:

Mr Camouflage Posted November 14, 2003 Share #4 Posted November 14, 2003 You checked the fuses? Does pressing the keytag remore do anything? indicators flash or whatever. It might need a new battery in the keytag to disarm the immobiliser. The dash lights may not work untill the imobiliser is disarmed.
icice9 Posted November 14, 2003 Share #5 Posted November 14, 2003 if your radio works without the key then the radio is wired direct to the bat.. if our power windows or any other electricl unit wotn work when the car is on the "on" posistion then i would suspect the ignition switch.. most of the electrical units run off the ignition switch.. but like everyone says.. check your bat if you have enough amps to turn the car or alos check your fuseable links too.. it might just be a simple fix... good luck man
280zx Fever Posted November 15, 2003 Author Share #6 Posted November 15, 2003 Success :D she runs...i just hot wired it from the positive side of the battery too the coil... after 5mins of trying it went But i still have Electrical Probs..Indicatiors dont work... also i cant turn the key to the on posistion without the dash lights coming on.... beandip Posted November 16, 2003 Share #7 Posted November 16, 2003 It could still be the alarm system . In the future to check to see if it is the batt . turn on the head lights and then blow the horn . if the lights go dim it's the batt.
280zx Fever Posted November 17, 2003 Author Share #8 Posted November 17, 2003 I got a new battery for the key tag...nothing happens.. what a waste of $2.75 i noticed some wiring missing around the car so i think the p/o might of started doing something and never finshed it ??? drunkenmaster Posted November 18, 2003 Share #9 Posted November 18, 2003 "clickity click" reminds me of my old car when the immobilser was activated.
