Posted November 15, 200321 yr comment_57158 Just curious for those of us with the early Zs that have only one supporting strut for the hatch. Does your hatch not sit quite right because of the stresses from years of being supported on only one side? I'm wondering if I should try and 'improve' my 71 by swapping a later hatch and have two support rods. November 15, 200321 yr comment_57174 My 71 doesn't have an alignment problem because of the hatch strut...BUT I would like to install a later model two strut hatch and don't know if this is easily done. Any one have answers or have done this already? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8881-hatch-support/#findComment-57174 Share on other sites
November 15, 200321 yr comment_57202 Buddy of mine put the duel strut assembly on his 240 and now its ballanced but the struts slam the hatch up so quick that we're waiting for it to rip the hinges of the car like an auto ejector. If you do it, go w/ the wimpy struts, cause the strong ones also make it damn hard to close the hatch Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8881-hatch-support/#findComment-57202 Share on other sites
