Posted November 17, 200321 yr comment_57398 Has anyone here ever tried to install these seats in a 240Z:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2442732906&category=33701I am not sure that I want them, but comparing that price to the cost of re-doing my existing seats, it doesn't look bad.(Existing seats == 30 years of neglect and bad storage...)Just asking... November 17, 200321 yr comment_57402 It looks very much like one in MSA's catalog. With $80 in shipping for this e-bay auction, you might want to compare their pricing. November 17, 200321 yr comment_57405 I have been considering the same thing as you, but am partial to the style of the original seats when in new condition they look awesome. However I do like the racing style seat I think you need to make measurements of height and width go from there. Brackets and be easily fabricated I have a friend with this style but they arn't very adjustable might be annoying for u dunno. November 17, 200321 yr Author comment_57406 Actually, if you read the fine print that $248 price is for (2) seats, at least I think that is what is says, so that is about 1/2 of what Motorsport is asking, even after shipping. Not that I have $328 burning a hole in my pocket... A hole in my pocket yes, but that is mostly from buying parts to restore my Z...:stupid: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8927-has-anyone-ever-tried-to-install-these-seats/#findComment-57406 Share on other sites

November 18, 200321 yr comment_57500 The only advise I can offer, based on my experiences with different seats, is.........If you are a tall person and don't want your head right next to the headliner, purchase seats that have suspended type butt cushions (like the original Z seats). A lot of aftermarket seats use a shell and the butt cushion sits on the shell. By the time you install sliders on these type of seats you will be sitting relatively high. Now, a person can eliminate the stock seat supports (not my preference of course) and modify as required but, that's a lot more work. I'm 5' 11" and I have installed SPARCO SPRINT seats (without sliders) and have used the stock mounting. I had to drill a few new holes in the stock mounts and used some of the stock spacers to aquire my correct attitude but I now sit perfectly in the Z (240). Anyway, I hope this info is of some help to you.
