Septics won't understand this one.

A seven year old boy was at the centre of a courtroom drama last week when

he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of the boy.

The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge awarded

custody to his aunt.

The boy cried and said that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he refused to live there.

When the judge suggested that he live with his grandparents the boy cried out that they

beat him more than anyone.

The judge dramatically allowed the boy to choose who should have custody of him.

Custody was granted to the NZ all blacks rugby team this morning as the boy firmly believes that they are not capable of beating anyone.

ROFL ROFL ROFL

Rick.

i'm not a rugby man, but gotta love when australia beat NZ at there only game...

now hoping to beat england, if we beat them on saturday, they havn't won jack all against australia for ages, not even in soccer

Just out of curiosity and being a guy from the states, what's the big rivalry thing between the Ozzy's and the Kiwi's all about and how did it start. Please enlighten us foriegners. I can't wait to hear this one!!!

Not only the Kiwi's, but the Poms as well.

As to how it started, I guess it's a combination of the ANZAC spirit

and the common ties both countries have to England?

FWIW, the Australian Constitution has a provision for New Zealand to become a State within the Commonwealth!

Zedrally,

I'm don't know what ANZAC spirit is but I think the light is coming on here. Thanks for the bit of history. Please feel free to elaborate on this subject a little more if you will. We all like to learn new things.

I Think I'll pass it over to the resident Aussie Historian, 1 Bravo 6....

PS to 1 Bravo 6, I have a close friend who has just purchased a property somewhere around Rockhampton.

Now how he expects to move his collection of 20 odd zeds up there is mind boggling, maybe a fire sale down here for us lucky folk!

Our loss, your gain.

I will beat you to it 1 Bravo as i have read the history of Anzac several times (currently reading about Gallipoli again)

The ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corp) commenced in 1914 whereby the Aussies promised to send 20,000 troops to WW1 at the beginning in August 1914. The Kiwis could only put together 4000 quickly so to make up 2 divisions, the second was formed up as 2/3rds aussie and a 3rd kiwi. They were known as the A&NZ division. There was a great deal of angst that the poms would place the A&NZ troops into pommy divisions fighting seperately. This prevented this from happening.

Both divisions were sent to Gallipoli which is a little peninsula in at the bottom of Turkey. During the month of August 1915 at this place, there was a major attack at a place called Lone Pine and the Jolly. Whilst they had fought well together from April up until August, it cemented a relationship which we all enjoy. The A&NZ spen all the time together during WW1. We may say bad things about them but they are things you would only say to a mate. If he wasn't your mate he would thump you.

PS - did you know that the first major action seen by the Americans in WWI was fighting alongside the Aussie battalions in the battle of Hamel as they wanted to learn about the style of fighting required in France. Before the attack, General Pershing ordered the US soldiers not to get involved as he did not want them under the command of foreign commanders. A number disobeyed choosing to participate which turned out to be a highly successful battle.

Like all Kiwi's I was a little dissapointed by the rugby results. At least it wasn't to France.(Kiwi's have a bigger rivalry with France)

All I can say to the Aussie's is think back to your Cricketing shame.

My mate in the navy says whenever they dock in NZ the ropes still are thrown out to them underarm.

Further to bikers explaination, the term ANZAC spirit stems from the fiasco of Gallipoli.

A full explaination would take too long. Look for the video GALLIPOLI, watch it and you'll understand. Stars a very young Mel Gibson.

Rick.

You guys are OK!!! Thanks for the history lesson. So basically, when you are ragging on your mates it's just a sign of affection. Yah, I guess that's a universal thing. Thanks again....
