POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for managing the motorsports parts inventory. Conducts market research, develops new parts, manages the purchasing process, determines pricing, develops the catalog, manages invoicing and collection process and procedures for the department. Manages select racing activities, including grassroots efforts, and works with various race sanctioning bodies regarding rules changes and enforcement. Makes independent decisions during motorsports events to ensure the event runs smoothly. Represents Nissan as main Motorsports spokesperson. Acts as technical expert to competitors and enthusiasts on technical issues, troubleshooting and general motorsports parts questions. Maintains strong technical knowledge and appropriate sourcing system to ensure availability of parts not in supply. Collaborates with dealer network, engineering, consumer affairs, service, NISMO parts, P-R and marketing departments on product matters. Develops new parts by analyzing market trends and meeting with vendors, improves existing parts and works independently with vendors to achieve quality and lowest pricing on parts purchased. Assists with select motorsports parts marketing and promotional efforts, including catalog creation. Provides guidance to the motorsports staff and coordinates the day to day operation of the Motorsports department. Responsible for entire accounting process with regards to billing procedures, invoice payment, credit card sales, production of statements, and processing of checks. Five or more years of increasingly responsible related professional level experience. Supervisory experience strongly desired. Bachelor's degree in a related marketing discipline. Consider equivalent related training. Strong knowledge and in depth experience in motorsports parts development, marketing, sales and pricing. Ability to problem-solve technical parts issues. Strong project management and customer service skills. Excellent PC skills. Occasional day and overnight travel required.
