May 17, 200420 yr comment_81407 Do the laws over there let you change the bumpers? Just my opinion but those huge bumpers don't help the look, and the early chrome ones look better. If you want the 'early chrome ones' get a car that has them IMO. Look at the pictures of the front hit on the 3rd page of this thread. Early bumpers...........that hood corner would have been toast. But that's why you have insurance :classic: Vicky Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9008-totalled-my-280z-pictures-inside/?&page=6#findComment-81417 Share on other sites
May 17, 200420 yr comment_81469 The smaller bumpers are a little hard to come bye in thease partsatleast in good condition anyway. I would love to find some in deacent shape for my 71. Some that i can afford anywayROFL Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9008-totalled-my-280z-pictures-inside/?&page=6#findComment-81469 Share on other sites
May 18, 200420 yr Author comment_81609 Yeh.. i was originally going to replace my big 280Z crash bumpers.. but if you look at some of the pictures... the bumper indeed protected alot of the front end. With a smaller bumper the hood would have been damaged, as well as the hood hinges, and I guarantee the frame would have been bent, or at least the radiator support. My bumpers don't bug me... so i'll keep em on. They do work.. that's all I care about Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9008-totalled-my-280z-pictures-inside/?&page=6#findComment-81609 Share on other sites

But they probably wouldn't protect your car much, if you happened to have a bit of girlfriend trouble along the same lines as Proxlamus:classic: Or you could try eliminating the bumpers altogether!!! But I have to say I cringe whenever I see a z with no bumpers as I can see a small parking shunt at some point in the future turning into major body damage. Can't deny those bumpers saved you a lot more heartache, Proxlamus.regardsAndrew Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9008-totalled-my-280z-pictures-inside/?&page=6#findComment-81611 Share on other sites

Hey Bill, I've been buying stuff from VB since 1990 and never had a problem. Much better than MSA lately that's for sure. I ordered a part from MSA back in early April that I still havent gotten. But as always it's buyer beware no matter where you shop.
