Posted November 25, 200321 yr comment_58400 Does anyone out there have an idea what the cylinder compression on a bone stock 1972 240Z would be. The engine is now broken in with just a little over 3000 miles on it.This yellow rocket is one of those "Factory Restored" Z cars. My 1972 Factory Service Manual listed 170 PSI as the compression reading for a new L24 engine Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9057-cylinder-compression/#findComment-58402 Share on other sites
November 25, 200321 yr Author comment_58403 The '77 280Z has been tested at 215 PSI. Needless to say this car is far from stock. The engine has about 1500 miles on it so I really don't think it's ready for the dyno yet. Can't wait to find out the results when the "ZRush" is dyno'ed.Thanks for the info on the '72 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9057-cylinder-compression/#findComment-58403 Share on other sites
November 26, 200321 yr comment_58504 Just put in a rebuilt bottom end (and unskimmed Samuri head) in my 240 and all pots give 170 PSI, plugs out and throttle open with no noticable variation between them which backs up BambiKiller240's service manual nicely.
