question about seatbelt harness

Hey Dave,

I saw in your original message you asked about mounting both the lap and shoulder belts to the existing floor mounts for the stock lap belts, not a recommended solution. You typically want the shoulder belts to be mounted as close to level to your shoulders as you can get. Reason being is that low belts can actually compact your spine which can cause back aches and over extended periods could cause back problems.

So when are you going to return the favor and take me for a ride in your Z? Happy track events! :)

Yeah, that's what I've been reading on the harness, makes perfect sense. Maybe I'll just keep my existing belt until I get a cage. I haven't seen the schedule yet for NASA, but the day I sign up for an event ( I'm hoping jan or feb) I'll let you know. I'll probably go to Infineon, but I've been wanting to try thunderhill. Downloaded some lap videos of that track to give me a feel for what I'm in for when I finally go there. Gotta tell ya, that track looks like it's in the middle of nowhereLOL. Speaking of Videos, I installed a camera mount in my car so I can tape some of my laps. Should make for some humor for the Pros. here. By the way, I sold that dashboard, so you can take it off of your site.

BTW, that ride in the Cortina was the first time I went out on a track and I've been hooked ever since. It's all Royce's fault ROFL

I know when it comes to organized racing, I'm a novice, but hopefully with enough practice, money, and tips from everyone here, I'll be able to actually COMPETE in an event someday.

Hey Guys,

Let's run an open track event together. I am looking for weekend events early next year. How about:

Feb 7th weekend:

They are my favorite open track group, and the Scott Performance guys usually run a few Zs.

Suggest any others if you like. Sorry you won't come out this weekend.
