Posted November 26, 200321 yr comment_58550 The windsheild wipers work, but in the "off" position they are upright on the windshield. I've been told that the wiper motor needs to have the polarity reversed. If this is true, how is this done and is it a pain in the a.. to correct. November 26, 200321 yr comment_58556 NO,your linkage is upside down.Remove the cowl.Remove the nut that holds the linkage to the motor.Rotate the linkage to the correct location.I think its 180 degrees. You'll see the problem.Test and watch it close BEFORE you secure the wiper arms or the blades can take off across the hood. Been there!:stupid: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9077-windsheild-wiper-polarity/#findComment-58556 Share on other sites

November 26, 200321 yr comment_58570 I drive a FORD......And my Z car is working perfectly.--for a 25 year-old car.:classic: If you think about it, why would the wipers go back-and-forth if the polarity was backward? You know- DC MOTOR. There are more than 2 pins on the wiper motor connector, and even though I don't know where they go, I do know they are involved with the 2 speeds. I would assume the motor parks itself. The thing is that you gotta watch out for those "experts." The kind of people who tell you they know about this stuff, when they don't.for these people, 'a little knowledge' is a dangerous thing.
