JMT240KGTR Posted November 27, 2003 Share #1 Posted November 27, 2003 Just a quick one for the 240K/C110 guys out there. I finally landed a deal for the elusive 2 door C110/240K coupe, it'll be in my hands hopefully before Christmas. Swapping a 260Z 5 speed for a dead straight body, c/w everything except motor and trans; easy fix-swap all running gear from my sedan to the coupe!!! I'm excited I tell ya!!!:classic: It'll be a nice feeling getting my hands back on a coupe, can I join the 2 door club again???!!! Kyteler, Alfa??? Aah, never thought I'd land one again, relief..... kyteler Posted November 27, 2003 Share #2 Posted November 27, 2003 CONGRATS!! :D Sounds like a deal, a steal, sale of the f*&ken century! How is she rust wise? I know you mentioned dead straight but that doesn't necessarily include rust. Or does it? What's the Int/Ext colour. Does your sedan have IRS thus making it a proper swap or is it a solid axle? Keep me up to date. I guess I can let you into the club I never heard of, what about you Lachlan, do you mind?
JMT240KGTR Posted November 27, 2003 Author Share #3 Posted November 27, 2003 Couple of spots of rust but nothing major; surface rust type, not even rust in the dreaded rear quarters or rear screen surrounds. The colour of the car is gold (the pic in my gallery doesn't do it any justice, a bit dark??) and interior is black. The dash has the woodgrain finish removed and is black, not a bad look but I have a spare woodgrain instrument panel anyway. It is IRS as were all K's, sedan or coupe. As for a club, I think we should make a C110 club and incorporate it with this club, sort of like an L6 sister club. Who knows how to set up this sort of thing? Try and get a C110 register... kyteler Posted November 27, 2003 Share #4 Posted November 27, 2003 Not true, the Standard, Deluxe and Vans had Rigid Axle w/ Semi-Elliptic rear leaf springs, it was only the GT and Hardtop that had IRS, mind you having said that, I doubt many 160, 180 and 240K's in any other option other than GT (GL Inclusive) and Hard-top filtered into many places. So most around will be IRS. Oh and about the club thing, I'm working on a website slowly but I won't be able to afford domain name registration or hosting until I have a job again and that doesn't seem to be happneing very fast. Alfadog Posted November 27, 2003 Share #5 Posted November 27, 2003 Good news! Yes, of course you can join the elusive (and exclusive!) 'club' If you need any help with the web design...
JMT240KGTR Posted November 27, 2003 Author Share #6 Posted November 27, 2003 Thanks Michael and Lachlan, would be good if we could get a site up wouldn't it?!Interesting news there Michael regarding the suspension of 240K's. Standard, deluxe and vans; that's new to me. Perhaps this was optional overseas, because I'm pretty sure all Oz made K's were of IRS rear, nothing else. I've never seen a reference for the C110 as having anything other than IRS, could you post where you got the info from, I'd be very interested in how that is set up!Well just when you think you know your cars, you learn something everyday!Cheers....:classic:
Gav240z Posted November 27, 2003 Share #7 Posted November 27, 2003 You should be able to locate software to set up a forum for your club guys. Shouldn't be too difficult I'm coming up to Holidays as of Monday I may be able to help you out and maybe we can make it a sister club of the Classic Z forums. All you need to do is really pay for a domain name. kyteler Posted November 27, 2003 Share #8 Posted November 27, 2003 James, That info was taken straight out of my (from the cover of the book); Parts Catalog DATSUN 240KGT 180K 160K Model C110 Series R-Drive Dec. 1974 Issue Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. Tokyo Japan Pub. No. C-0140R It's the 3rd Edition of such a Catalog, the First was on Oct. '72 Second in June '74. So if you want to know any numbers just let me know and I'll look it up for you. Of course it is only the K (export) models so it isn't helpful for everything. Gav240z, yeah most sites use phpBB but I dont like that as much as the one used here, I'd also want to use photopost so both of those require payment for use, but for a start It'll probably run phpBB w/ a basic title page and some info pages. That being said... if anyone has any factory or direct information relating to anything R30 and before, send me a PM and send it my way. Lachlan, at the moment she's in her infancy but when it's a bit more settled I'll definately call upon your services, infact it'll probably be predominantly run by the three of us here, except being my name's Michael, i get to be the "Mike" of the outfit LOL
