Cool. Yeah, they won the race in 75.

Brock Yates recently wrote a book on the (infamous) "Cannonball Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash's" run in the 70's. It's light reading, but I enjoyed the tales told by the participants.

Hi Christopher, You will appreciate two of my favorite automotive moments while working as a T.V. videographer. Both happened at Sears Point raceway in the 80's. The first was to spend a day with Bob Bondurant on and off the track. Yes I own Grand Prix. The second was my favorite. Jackie Stewart (A childhood hero) was giving media rides in a prepped Merkur. I struggled against the lateral g-forces holding my camera while Jackie kept the car in perfect balance with throttle and brake, all the while holding the steering wheel with just his fingertips and thumbs. And my favorite quote "Now remember Steven, You have got to be smooth." (Add Scottish accent)

I saw Jackie at Sebring once, but never met him. Let alone a ride! I'm one of those who stands in line to get autographs at the ALMS races now. I don't know whatever happened to Cline or May. Cline crashed his DP Triumph and damned near killed himself years ago, and I remember sealing the Ferrari in a building in 80 or 81. I went to the F1 races in Spa and Hochenheim a few years ago. Most everyone (excluding myself) grew up and I don't see them any more.

I will be restoring the Z - her lovliness, miss 26 - and plan to post my efforts in the coming months. She is lovely now, but you know how old broads need a lift in their old age! I want her drop-dead gorgeous again.

There must be another intro thread floating out there but oh well....

I'm Dwight, 33, married to a woman that loves me and just rolls her eyes at my Z infatuation a lot. It doesn't help that she is pregnant and ready to go at the moment. I live in Chandler Arizona and work for Insight selling IT hardware, software and services (read, if you need anything let me know, I'll put the commision I make to the Z). I grew up in Florida (Sarasota and Orlando) and spent some time just north of Atlanta Georgia (trying to get back).

My first Z was a 1973 that I got in 1988, I "refreshed" her and drove her until somewhere around 1993.... My heart still aches.

My current Z is a badly oxidized 72 that needs much TLC but I can't bring myself to stop driving it long enough to get things done. I bought her in November and will probably get it in the garage try "refresh" in the fall.

The wife drives a @#%^&$^^&%*((%$@!#@@#$ 98 Jetta. It's actually been a good car I just HATE it. I also have a 95 Sonoma that is "suppossed" to be my daily driver.

The current family includes a cat and 2 dogs. The above mentioned ankle biter is due the beginning of July.

That's enough of me........... next!

Hmmm....looks like an old thread but ok

I'm Craig, 21. I'm about to finish college at UC Santa Cruz in the fall. I'm addicted to old cars, I have a 56 Ford pickup disassembled in my garage and waiting for attention after the 71 240z. I work at a local hotrod/custom shop, and I fully believe in building as much of the car yourself as you can. I really like painting cars, but unfortunately none of my employers have trusted me to do a paint job on a customer's car (we'll see what they say after I finish the Z). Not really sure where I'm going in life, just enjoying the ride

wow, 10 pages took a while. Well, Im a new member, but have been visiting this site nearly daily for about a year. My name is Will, live in AR (Zed, your the only other Arkansas member Ive seen), 27 years old, happily married for 7, one beautiful daughter, 9, and a 4 year old son who loves to ride in "Daddys car" I dont have a fancy job, blue collar, I sell parts at a Local Ford Dealership in Hot Springs. (If anyone needs any Ford parts let me know, I'll give a hefty discount to a fellow Z fan.) First car was a 81 ZX that I paid for on my own at age 17. A fit of anger and stupidity made me trade it for a Jeep Cherokee. I still cry everyday about that, because the beautiful car is now ran down in a car lot and they wont sell it to me. Anyway, 8 years later, I found my new love, my 73 240. Still a lot of work to do, but am looking forward to it. Drive it everyday, and love every minute of it. Thanks for an aweosme site!

I'm not here very often but.....

My name is Aren, I'm 23 and still live with my parents. No kids.

Two girlfriends:

'70 240z #2806 All stock -- Restoring

'78 280z Modified for Auto-X (FP)

My uncle GAVE my my '70. Not pretty outside but inside she's a gem.

I bought the 78 for $200 and now have over 5k in it. Prettier on the outside than the 70 but uglier on the inside. (Whatever it takes to go fast huh?)

Hello all!

I am 36, with 3 kids 15 months, 4 years and almost 6 years old.

I just bought my first Z 3 weeks ago and I am still trying to get it shipped to me (it is killing me - the wait) from AZ to PA.

Zs rule. I always wanted one. Why not get the original? Could not find a suitable series 1 so I got a 71 1/2.

I am 100% Z. LOVE THE Z. Although I still have not seen the one I bought.

Also have a 2002 Kia Sedona (family car), 1992 Maxima bought new - this car has 163,000 miles with 0 work on it, `1986 Buick Century - this rules as my deceased grandfather used to own it, and a 1991 Honda NightHawk 750 (old toy).

My other love is IFOCE.com. Trying my hardest to make it to the World Hot Dog eating championship on 7/4/2003.

I'm Brett. I've been a member for a year and still haven't done this thing. I'm a 22 year-old graduate student in international relations, who's lived in Washington for some 18 years now, and will never live anywhere else.

I myself have two girlfriends as well:

1.) Almost restored 1973 240Z

2.) 2001 Audi TT

Since putting in a Pertronix Ignitor and a Fireball coil, I'm happy to report that my Z is much, much faster :)
