11 pages...wow :classic:

My name is James, I'm 23 and live in Melbourne, Australia. I graduated last year in electronic enigneering but am having trouble finding work so if you know of any send it my way :)

Admittedly I have only really been interested in the Z's for just over a year now and in this time I have owned 3, 2 of which I still own. I was on the lookout for a light weight rear wheel drive car with a minimum of 6 cylinders but a turbo 4 would have scraped in. I was looking to buy a nissan s14 when I visited a friend who was working on a stripped out old rust heap i could barely make out. I couldnt understand why he would spend so much time and money on a technologically out dated junk heap but he proceeded to email pictures of a bunch of fine zeds and my eyes were opened. I always planned to fit some modern power plant in the zed be it nissan or lexus v8 or rb25det but as I have worked on the car it has become more personal and I would like to build as much as I could myself and I felt such a big swap was too muchf or a first timer. I have found myself a L28ET minus the turbo and will take it from there...

I also just finished re writing my website if anyone is interested to see my cars and what I'm up to.

Christa, a big WELCOME from the land down under.

Sorry about your mum

HEY ALFADOG, your comment to Christa, "Dunno, I think they might be winking at you rather than the car.....Nothing better than a good lady in a good car, gives me the impression that your a bit of a sweet talker huh ??????

Anyway, all about me......I'll keep it short.

Born and bred in Sydney 1943......hate the place.

Joined the Army in August '64

Met "She who must be obeyed" late '66, after returning home from an all expenses paid tour of the beautiful and friendly country of Viet Nam.

Took my discharge in '84.

One son, a psychologist. (When he tries using his magic on me I just tell him where to place his wand).

Now retired, living in sunny Queensland in a beautiful coastal town called Yeppoon with my lovely wife of 36 years, 2 Jack Russell Terriers, my golf clubs. fishing rods and of course, "Precious", my 260Z.

Said I'd keep it short.

Rick.

Rick, nah mate I'm no sweet talker, too much of a 'puppy' for that ;)

Dunno how good my maths is, but 1966... and 36 years old... well something doesn't quite match up there???

Or is this wife your second marriage perchance?

Anyway, good to know a little more about you :)

haHA!!!!!!!!!!!

Thought you'd caught me on that one didn't you Lachlan ????

It goes like this mate.

Met 'er in '66

Wed 'er in '67

IT IS NOW 2003.

By using the powers of deduction, that is 36 years of marriage.

I wouldn't want another one mate, it's taken all this time to get used to each other. Imagine trying to break in another one at my age !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rick.

My first love was my father's 1972 240Z bought in 1976, the year I was born. My father took my mother to the hospital to deliver in his Z and I was almost born on the passenger seat. So I've loved Z's my whole life. I bought my own about 8 years ago, a 72 240, and I am still working on bringing up to it's potential beauty. My father still has his and now we have matching Z's.

You are correct... DINK = Double Income No Kids... But I would not necessarily say I'l looking for a "rich one," just one who can put up with my car obsession!!!

Oh, & let me have the remote!!

I noticed a lot of Australians... Where exactly is Rotts Nest Island? One of my favorite movies "Under the lighthouse dancing" was filmed there. Beautiful place!!
