MicksZ Posted November 1, 2003 Share #170 Posted November 1, 2003 Better add my bit here after I saw everyone else has said hello.. My name is Mick Partridge and I live in Melb, AUS. I am going into the final year (5th) of my Mech. Eng Degree. I come from a Datto family and my first car was a purple 1200 coupe with all the hot bits. It has been taken off the road and is raced by my brother after I bought my '73 240Z. Just not enough power in the hotted-up 1200 to satisfy..... Still learning more about the Z's everyday - and I would like to thank Mike and guys like Gav240Z, BambiKiller240 and a lot of others for helping out when people like me ask stupid questions... :classic: This site is awesome, keep up the good work Admins... Cheers MP
Zs-ondabrain Posted November 13, 2003 Share #171 Posted November 13, 2003 My name is Dave, I live Marysville, Washington (state). U.S.A.I own 1) 70 240Z ( in the pic on your left screen) It has the original motor that has had a stage 2 cam, 6-into-1 header, 2 1/2 pipe and a flowmaster muffler put in so far. All the polished aluminum on her was done by me at home and all the other work was also done by me. Hense the phrase " I'm too cheap to pay someone else"I used to own an 78' 510 2door hatchback that I built the crap out of, Raced It, then sold it 5 years later to pay for the traffic tickets I received on it's behalf. ( clocked By State Trooper @ 140+ MPH and still accelerating. oops, sorry officer.Weather up here sucks arse, esspecially when you blow the heater core hose in the first FREEZE of the season, tear it all apart to find out it was only a hose in the first place ( kinda jumped the gun that time )So far I'm really torn as to what I'll do with the car in the following months, TO RESTORE, OR TO BUILD FOR RACING? tough decision.Dave. Chino 240Z Posted November 16, 2003 Share #174 Posted November 16, 2003 Konnichi Wa! Craig 43, Chino California. Double incomes, 4 satellite TVs (remotes everywhere), 3 kids, 2 guinea pigs, 1 dalmatian dog, & 1 fish. I enjoy building scale model cars, fast electric RC boats and playing with the kids. In all the fun going on around here we find time to wrench on our 71 240. Many years ago had a 72 and a 78, stock. But this go around wanted to get some track time so this 71 is all road race. The awhole family is Nascar, Trans Am, and road race freaks. For 17 yrs. my work has been designing and building industrial automated control systems & panels. Cindy is an RN in ICU at City of Hope Hospital. She is a great partner loves to talk shop, build cars, race the Z, collect diecast and slot cars with me! I feel pretty lucky, she would rather get car parts as a gift instead of flowers and girl stuff, its easy shopping for her! I have learned alot from all of you here on this Classic Z Car Club site and thank you! I've seen alot of nice Z cars here too! Glad to know ya - Yoshi-Noya! sblake01 Posted November 16, 2003 Share #175 Posted November 16, 2003 I'm a 53 year old retired grocery clerk. I am married (2nd) with one child (23 year old son) and my wife has one child (29 year old daughter) both from previous relationships. She is 47. We have 4 grandchildren. We have been married some 6+ years and it is the best move I have ever made. I have been into Datsuns since the early 70's and have owned many including the 510 (3), a roadster (70 1600), 2 520's, a 620, my present 320, Z's (70, 72, and my present 78), 3 A10's (78,79,80), 1 84 Pulsar NX, 81 200SX, and my present 79 810 2dr. My vehicles are not restorations per se, but clean and complete drivers. I do not have a fortune invested in them as some seem to. The most modified of the three is the 320. That was mainly to make it freeway worthy. It has a J16 with a sidedraft weber, a header, 200sx 5spd, roadster differential, etc. The others are basically stock. The 810 is my daily driver but I get equal enjoyment from all three of them. I am a 'Datsun' fan. I don't care much for any of the ZX's or the 350Z. I'm not knocking those cars. They just aren't my personal prefference. The only 'Nissan' I ever personally owned was a 1993 NX 1600 although the 200sx had both Datsun and Nissan badges on it. I'm not much into the front wheel drive cars though I have owned a couple. (Pulsar NX, NX 1600) This site is the most informative and entertaining Datsun/Nissan site I have ever come across. I visit at least daily.

ChrisA Posted April 17, 2004 Share #178 Posted April 17, 2004 I missed this one as well... Chris, 36 years young, Lincoln Nebraska (not a Red Clad Loon). Married, have a 5 month old son. 2 Boxer dogs, one cat. Work at a Mack Truck Dealership in the Parts Department. Hobbies besides Z cars are: Fine Tequila, model railroading, model cars, growing Italian San Marzano tomatoes, reading Stephen King during the winter. I fell in love with Z cars when I saw a Black Pearl 280 new on the lot. Bought a black 1971 when I was 16. Right now I have a 72 and a 73. The 72 is a beater I bought off a guy who was giong to have it crushed. Rusty but trusty. My 73 is a clean 99% rust free car that's spent its entire life in Nebraska. Sold out of an Omaha dealership I am its third owner. I have a couple pictures of it in my Gallery. It has your normal mods that you'd expect on a Z. Better suspension, wheels and tires, etc. Motor has been punched out and it has ztherapy carbs. Its not a rocket ship but she'll get up and go. Makes me smile everytime I look at her. deadflo Posted April 30, 2004 Share #179 Posted April 30, 2004 Hi I am Steve a public radio reporter in Spokane Washington. I'm 47 years old and fell in love with the Z when my eighth grade female english teacher showed up at school with a brand new 1970 orange 240-Z.I bought a cherry 79 ZX in 1990, and have babied that car for 14 years. I continued to search for an acceptable 240-Z since about 1991. I drove maybe 20 cars in my area in the next few years. I saw a couple that interested me but had no approval from my wife at the time for a second Z car. This year I found a nice series one 71 on this website for sale in oregon. The wife said OK, so I bought that car, and hope to dial in a few fixes, get her paid off, then eventually paint the Z in a year or two.I love this website, great to have help from all you folks on many issues!
