May 15, 200519 yr comment_123867 Care to explain the rootes generalisations comment? You are aware that jimmy blowers (as seen on 5 second drag cars) are roots yes? (52psi boost and I can't see them having a problem with top-end). They are however, the least adaibaticly efficient compressor of the three.Just a generalisation. The top fueler only runs in a very specific powerband, so they size the blower to provide the boost they want at that specific rev band. For a street car it's a whole different kettle of fish as you need to operate over a much larger rev and load range.It's a typical characteristic of the rootes blowers that they will drop off in efficiency at higher revs.About the heat produced by the roots, I was trying to say that's a problem when you try to run them at higher speed.
