Coke also has phosphoric acid in it. Back in elem. school, one kid's dad was a dentist and We put a tooth in some coke. A week later it was partially dissolved!

The electrical contact vinegrette works on all your connectors. Soak any connector in a cup of vinegar, then flush it throughly with contact cleaner = brand new contacts

Have you noticed any change in the wiring insulation after treating with the vinegar? You wouldn't want the vinegar to make the insulation MORE brittle.

BTW, you can get concentrated (really STRONG) vingar at a photo supplies store- it's used in B&W photography. I think it's called "Stop Bath." Basically, it's Glacial Acetic Acid.

You probably want to dilute it with water, and then try it on some regular wire, or some spare Z wires to see what happens.

I'd still like to see what CLR will do...

I'm wondering if anybody last a list or graphic/map of the ground connections on the car (280Z).

Engine grounds ( alternator, injuectors, etc.

front end (lights, horn)

tail end (lights, fuel pump, gas gauge)

Dash( lights)

miss anything?

While it's laid up & in the hangar, there's a lot of time for soaking & chasing- no driving until spring. Except it's cold.
