Posted December 9, 200321 yr comment_60077 Howdy! There is a chance that I will be in Norther California in Late Jan. possibly until March. Somewhere between 12 and 52 days. There is a Coast Guard Traing Center in Petaluma, near the Santa Rosa area. My transportation will be limited, but I maybe renting a car every so often, of course if they let me take my truck I'll do that instead (this is unlikely).Basically I just wanted to see who is in the area and if they know of any events going on during that time frame. You could look at this way, If you need another set of hands while working on your Z, I'm free labor!Nate Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9243-norcal/ Share on other sites
December 9, 200321 yr comment_60081 I am in the East Bay area of San Francisco Bay area. Probably about 70 miles or so from Petaluma. I don't know anything going on related to Z's in that timeframe. It's our wet/cold season, and nothing much happens related to cars. December 10, 200321 yr comment_60095 Come on Carl, "Free Labor" how can you pass that up? I see, oil change, valve adj., tires rotated and didn't you need to change the gasket on your oil pan? I need my hood installed (hope it's already done by then though) and we could B.S. about cars, I just meant that there isn't any organized car stuff going on from Jan to Mar. I can always come up with a project to share with a guest! The list is long. December 10, 200321 yr Author comment_60100 Sweet,i'm all about bs'ing about cars! I'm serious too, if you've got any project I'll definetly lend a hand. You see, our training center isn't actually in Petaluma... it's outside of town in the middle of nowhere surronded by cow patures and chicken farms...yaaaa! So I'll definetly be looking to get out of there! So what do you need polished? It's always a blast to take all the wheels off and clean the road gunk and brake dust off the backs of the rims!Nate Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9243-norcal/#findComment-60100 Share on other sites
December 10, 200321 yr comment_60103 OK, Keep in touch and we can get together for a pint or ??? I work funky days, Mon, Tues, Fri and Sat. Though my schedule may change by then. January 17, 200421 yr Author comment_64745 Hey Carl,I fly in to SFO Monday afternoon and will be going directly to the base in Petaluma. As it stands now I plan to rent a car on Friday or Saturday to keep for the weekend so if we can get together for some wrench turning, bs'ing and/or a pint or so that would be great! You can PM me a number and the best time to get a hold of you and I'll give you a call. Hope to hear from you.Nate Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9243-norcal/#findComment-64745 Share on other sites

January 18, 200421 yr comment_64753 You will not be far from Sears Point Race way now called Infineon Raceway. http://www.searspoint.com/ If you have never been to CA and you have days off you may want to check out Lake Tahoe. January 18, 200421 yr Author comment_64794 owenk I was in California back in 98 for about 5 months. While I was there I managed to make it out to Sears Pointe for the Annual Good Guys car club show and drag race. A lot of beautiful american iron there... too bad no Z's I'm only going to be in town for 12 days but if I get a chance I'm going to try and do a little snowboarding in the mountains. Last time I went to tahoe and when I got there I'm like heck might as well check out Reno too. Had a great time at both! Take it easy, Nate Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9243-norcal/#findComment-64794 Share on other sites
January 18, 200421 yr comment_64802 If you take some money with you there would be a good time to find that special Z you have been looking for and for the right price as well.
