26th-Z Posted December 11, 2003 Share #15 Posted December 11, 2003 Oh you guys. That's a 280. Weather or not it's a Black Pearl is the question. It should have an identification special edition plate on the console and some other peculiar special edition identification. It MAY be a Black Pearl and it MAY be a 280Z painted black. BIG DIFFERENCE. Black Pearls also had red and silver pinstiping. Make sure you know what you are buying!
Gav240z Posted December 12, 2003 Share #16 Posted December 12, 2003 It's never really been a topic of discussion the Black Pearl, the 280Zzap has been but briefly.Zhome.com does mention a bit about it and other important models but I guess living in Australia and us unlucky boys didn't get the 280z I say unlucky because the 260z's didn't have a great fuel delivery system.Anyway what's interesting to know is the 280z apparently sold 2 years after being bought for more than original sticker price. What is also interesting is that it was the first black Z i guess black wasn't the 70's color brown was :-).I think these will be a well sort after classic in some years to come as 26th Z mentioned it would be important to check this cars history to make sure your buying a genuine car.:classic:
