Original Rebuild from Nissan

Nice, but I think their starting price might be a bit optimistic... the last Z Store car that sold on ebay went for under 25K, if I remember right it was closer to 20K....

And, since this is a late 71 (8/71 build date) it has pieces from early and late, notice it has the early style console, yet has the vents on the C pillars...

I'd be willing to bet they won't get any bids, since their starting price is already near the upper end of what might be an expected high bid.....now, that isn't saying it isn't worth it.... but, if they had started it at say, 20K, they might have expected a bidding war and the price to get driven up accordingly.

IMO, a Z car is not a true 'rare collectable' yet, because I can easily find them at junkyards. That car will be worth that price in about 15 years. Until then, I'd rather spend 34k on a different car that is new, has a warranty, etc. Or a heavily modify my Z :)

That is REALLLLY optimistic in my opinion. Did you notice that he put 51,000 miles on it? How "like new" could it be after that kind of use. At this point, it is more like a nice used Z.

Here's another one for sale right now for $18K: http://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/4/6/60451346.htm

This is about the price of the last one that I heard of that sold.

We own one of the factory restored Z Cars. We purchased it from a Nissan dealership designated as one of the"Z Stores". But, before we purchased the car we did some research.

Prior to even thinking about buying the car we made a few calls to verifiy that it was actually a Nissan Factory Restored Z and not just some body shop resto. This was done by VIN number and color of the car.

Our Z came with all the Nissan documentation and had only 8 miles on the odometer. We paid $28,000 for the car in 2000 and that was what the dealer paid Nissan North America for the car. Included in all the documentation was the purchase order between the Nissan dealership and Nissan North America in Gardenia California.

We purchase the car in 2000 and it was appraised last year at $34,000.00.

Is this seller offering any kind of proof or documentation on the car? If this Z is was the seller claims it to be then it should be on the Dupont Resgistry also.

Our Z came with the Vintage Z Certified Booklet, Window Sticker with options listed, Invoice of Purchase between the local dealer and Nissan North America, copy of California Title from Nissan North America and warranty information. The car now has a little over 3,000 miles on it due to going to shows. The value of the car was determined by a Hagerty Classic Collectable Car appraiser.

I don't think the car that is advertised is a fake. But I would verify the VIN for 30 grand. This is what we did to verify our car back in 2000. We called MSA since we were already dealing with them on our 77 280. We told them we found a Factory Restored Z at a dealership in Tampa and we needed to be sure it was the real deal. MSA gave us the phone number to Pierre'z Z in California. He was one of two shops commissioned to do these cars for Nissan. He needed the VIN and the color. He verified that his was one of the cars he did for Nissan.

The price seems fair, but in my opinion these cars are for investment purposes and not to be used as daily drivers. That would defeat the whole purpose of the Vintage Z program.

So you don't have the certificate? I'm not trying to be rude here; I'm just curious and you seem to be avoiding my repeated question. The car on EBay shows this:

Yet you don't mention having one with your factory restoration.
