For sale in Australia...

...and he seems to be a very nice bloke. I've asked him if he can spare any pictures he has of the green car and he kindly offered to mail them to me. I also asked him about Nissan (he used to work for them) sales records and he said that he doubted the data they have would extend back to the early '70s...shame. I'd really like to know when and where my car was first sold in Victoria. Vicroads, the local authority, have been most unhelpful - stating that privacy laws prevent them from releasing the information. The implication is, therefore, that they do have the info - they just can't let it go. For a fee they will happily tell me how many owners the car has had (whoopee!:ermm: ) which I found out for free from the PO!

Anyway, I'm glad that nice original 240Zs are going for such high $ in Australia...especially no that I have one:D

Very true. Look what happened with me. I found a very nice 240 only to come across a hybrid I could never replicate in a thousand Sundays. There was no way I could pass up the opportunity but that's just me, ie I'm spoilt.:sleepy:

I find this topic fascinating. There appears to be no clear and established value for 240's as they seem to be caught between a wider community opinion as a classic car vs "just another Datsun".

You can buy a rustbucket relatively cheaply (compared to other classics), yet excellent examples are approaching top MGB price.

On the reverse, there seems to be no upside for 2+2's. My brother's 2+2 would read similarly to the adverts highlighted.. full history, 100k's, all original etc yet was only 3k or so. If you were to use your head, is the difference really worth $15,000? Probably not, the heart says differently though.

What are other people's thoughts regarding future values of these cars, ie all first gen : 240,260, 2+2 etc?
