December 17, 200321 yr comment_61044 Im with you Ben, I really think that the 260z 2+2 is really underated currently. A great deal of them are being sacrificed for parts and I can see one in good original condition will be worth a fair bit one day. I dont believe that they will ever be worth the money the 2 seaters will get though.Makes me lament as to WHY the heck I sold my old 75 2+2. The car was bone stock and not that rusty, would have made a great candidate for a pretty easy resto some day.Ahhh, if only!Joseph Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9266-for-sale-in-australia/?&page=3#findComment-61044 Share on other sites
December 17, 200321 yr comment_61066 My theory:240z UP in value260z flat (to marginal increase as people give up trying to find a 240!)2+2 flat to down.Who knows.. what do others think? I never considered that 2+2 theory. Intersting though.. December 24, 200321 yr comment_61849 I watch the Oz adverts for Datsun 240/260 2+2 Z's carefully, because I'll eventually export one to the EU for my own usage. I envy the amount of Zs currently for sale in the U.S. for very, very little, but it's gotta be RHD to make sense. December 26, 200321 yr comment_61952 I dunno if the 260z 2+2 will be rarer(more expensive) then the 240z ever, but the 2+2 is underrated for sure! The 2+2 is a perforance car in its own rite, that can beat the crap of other "performance " cars of the same age-People i know who arnt Z car nuts(but are car nuts) cant tell the difference between the two("its the same model but different year?")They both feel similar to drive(240z vs 260z 2+2)-and hell. its still a first gen Z, which makes it special to drive no matter what(Z car nuts know what i'am talking about) --NO MORE 260z 2+2 "stationwagon" comments! December 26, 200321 yr comment_61954 i have to disagree Datfreak, I owned a 2+2 and it was fun but the early 240z's are so much better in my opinion. You can feel the extra weight of the 2+2 and the interior is nicer if you ask me on a 240z.I would only consider a 2+2 because there so damn cheap to buy and I wouldn't worry about it when I park it like I do with the 240z. December 26, 200321 yr comment_61956 hey...I never said the 2+2 was better then the 240z.. But said it is a performance car on its own rite .. And at $3k-$10 au,they are a very nice car when original and "done up" tastfully, esp vs cars of the 70's--and beyond- (and alot better then the local Falcons and commodores). And as a nice fun - and good looking - car they are very underrated.. and i'am sure there are some people out there with VERY expensive paint jobs on their 2+2's, who worry about when they park their 260z's as well... December 26, 200321 yr comment_61958 Yes good point I didn't have a great paint job on my old 2+2 and I do worry alot about the 2 seater being damaged especially at the back of a Z never nice. The 260z is yes a very fun car to drive and is in alot of ways underated I must agree here but with all the performance cars around in Australia especially the turbo imports it can't find a cult following. I don't hate them by any means I did own one but could never really see myself getting another unless it was a daily driver or a car I could take my mates in. I guess I could end up eating my own words the thought of a 2+2 with an RB26 has crossed my mind. My friends always complain about 2 seats on the 240z so a 4 seater turbo 2+2 would be lots of fun for everyone. Ah well. As for value though I can't see the 2+2 ever being worth more than a 2 seater. December 26, 200321 yr comment_61960 Speaking of 2+2's. I'll be cutting mine in half soon, so if anyone needs a roof or rear quater panel. The wheel well is spoken for.I also have some doors with glass for sale, and a complete set of black interior panels/vinyl, and a Rear seat - cloth trim no tears. and various other bits an pieces. Any takers? And now something to make you cry. A guy on the wa z cars forum sent a whole 260z 2+2 body shell to the crusher because he couldn't find anyone to take it off his hands. Bonet, guards, everything. Those bits would have come in handy for spares for a 240z. December 27, 200321 yr comment_62019 Ben if it makes you feel any better, the recent ozdat add for stuff in the barossa valley was the remnants of a 2+2, but the owner had the whole lot crushed, inlcuding fibreglass front gaurds and bonnets, because he bought the whole car just for the R200 to fit into his 1600 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9266-for-sale-in-australia/?&page=3#findComment-62019 Share on other sites
