Posted December 12, 200321 yr comment_60386 Moyest has a really great coupla threads going on his recent Weber install and he brings up a couple of the points I wanted to reiterate here, but didn't want to hyjack his thread. This thread is about Mikuni's, and they aren't installed yet. I shopped for at least a month for a set of triples until I found this guy: Wolf Creek Racing . I shopped for mani's alone for 200-500, a single here for $150 and a double there for $500 and numerous sets of triples for anywhere from 750 - 1500. I'm not saying these type of deals won't work for someone, but for me Wolf Creek is a BARGAIN. Here is his first e-mail and I will tag on a couple a pix of the work.Steve,You happen to be in luck, that's part of our racing business, Mikuni carbs, parts & Manifolds. First off, let me tell you about us and how we do our carb setups. We only sell completely refurbed carbs that are setup to your engines specifications and expected driving scenario. Whether it be street, autcross or race. We have a complete stock of all jets, venturis and soft parts for the Mikuni/Solex carbs. We also have an extensive inventory of manifolds, insulators and some linkage pieces although linkage bits are becoming very scarce. When we do a complete carb setup, it is customized to your needs and we include a copy of the Mikuni Tuning Manual as well as two extra sets of jets for tuning purposes. BTW, we only deal with Datsun/Nissan manifolds. That's where our expertise comes in. With that being said, we can configure a set of triples 44's on a Cannon Manifold with linkage and refurbed insulators with new o-rings. We can configure the setup with air horns or filters, but not both. Your choice completely setup, ready to bolt on and run including Mikuni tuning manual, 2 extra sets of jets for tuning and shipping to SoCal for $1275. I have attached a couple of pix of a recently completed setup for you to see our work. I also have a neat JDM HKS manifold as opposed to the Cannon. It is a long runner as well. I attached a couple of those pix too. Your choice, they are roughly the same as for dimensions.Let me know your interest, and thanks for looking,Todd WalrichWolf Creek Racing516-635-6775 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9280-buying-triples/ Share on other sites

December 12, 200321 yr comment_60390 That sure looks good! I wonder if there's much HP/torque difference between the set-ups? For example, I think that the length of air horn can make a subtle difference, and webers certainly have longer air horns (mine's bigger than yours, hehehe... ) Good luck Zvoiture! December 12, 200321 yr Author comment_60392 I ordered mine with long runners and whort horns. You can get any length horns you want and you don't have to hang out here very long to realize everyone has an opinion of what different size horns will do..... Size DOES matter!steve77 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9280-buying-triples/#findComment-60392 Share on other sites
December 12, 200321 yr comment_60403 How much would a manifold like that cost? (not including the carbies). Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9280-buying-triples/#findComment-60403 Share on other sites
December 12, 200321 yr comment_60405 on the wolfcreek racing classifieds site (which i have long drooled over..)The hks long runner manifold costs US$350.A cannon one goes for similar money.Id be interested to know what the exact differences are between the two apart from brand name. December 14, 200321 yr comment_60654 So if you could pick up a triple weber manifold for $170 that would be a good buy? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9280-buying-triples/#findComment-60654 Share on other sites
December 14, 200321 yr comment_60655 It all depends on what condition and type of manifold it is. If its some backyard bogan attempt using exhaust tubing etc, then it may be a bit high. If its a nice alloy one by a reputable company it sounds like a steal. There was a cannon manifold kicking round here in SA for a while, but it had been converted for some other carbs, faced till it was paper thin, and the studs (in the wrong place for a webber I took along) were brazed into the alloy (well alloy had been melted around the studs. Needless to say I didnt take it any further. 170 sounds like a steal Go forth and buy CHris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9280-buying-triples/#findComment-60655 Share on other sites
December 14, 200321 yr comment_60656 maybe a dumb question here but can you use mikuni solex and webers on the canon intake or must you get specific intake for each type of carbs for triples Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9280-buying-triples/#findComment-60656 Share on other sites
December 24, 200321 yr comment_61861 mikuni/solex, weber, and dellorto all mount on the same manifold, while dellorto and weber share the same airfilters, and mikuni is different.... be careful putting triples on a stock motor though, i've been chasing a flat spot all last year that i just can't get rid of.... i'm running dellorto 40's on my z. the only conclusion i can come to is that she's over carbed, or at least, that's my justification for looking for just the right cam and exhaustROFL Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9280-buying-triples/#findComment-61861 Share on other sites
