mwz Posted December 13, 2003 Share #27 Posted December 13, 2003 Hi Alan, I'm sorry the thread took a wrong turn. My comments were meant to be in good spirit, but I can see why they weren't taken that way As Michael said, I hope there are no hard feelings. I have more numbers from some other pedals... 5/71 brake 7526; clutch- no stamp 2/72 brake 2203; clutch- no stamp 6/73 brake 3508; clutch- no stamp ?/73 brake 3126; clutch- no stamp 7/76 brake 5117; clutch- no stamp ?/77 brake 7221; clutch- no stamp ?/77 brake 6Y17;clutch- no stamp And a 7/73 Automatic brake marking... 3621 Hope it helps.... 2ManyZs Posted December 13, 2003 Share #28 Posted December 13, 2003 I'm wondering if this is aiming at one of the many LHD vs. RHD oddities.....I took a quick look at mine yesterday and saw no marking at all.. but it was too cold out there in the shop to go poking around too much....:cross-eye
NCLarry Posted December 13, 2003 Share #29 Posted December 13, 2003 Sorry, false call....I've got 1810 on the brake (outside facing side) but no markings on the clutch...Hmmm.. last time I actually won a Bingo game I was perhaps 12yrs old and won a toe-nail clipper... Hows that for exciting...
t_andrews Posted December 16, 2003 Share #30 Posted December 16, 2003 Alan,8508 on brake didn't see anything on the clutch, however I have not taken it off.so no bingo yet...Im curious, what do these numbers stand for?Factory batch?I don't see any correlation to the model years in others...Interesting nonetheless. Zedrally Posted December 17, 2003 Share #32 Posted December 17, 2003 Looking suspiciously like only UK bound RHD cars had numbers on both pedals!

260Zed Posted December 17, 2003 Share #34 Posted December 17, 2003 I found my Oz 260Z had 5518 on brake, none on clutch. Also found more of the PO's butchered wiring!
Dazza Posted December 17, 2003 Share #35 Posted December 17, 2003 My RHD Aussie delivered 240Z has 0903 and 0929. Any prize for getting the same month ??CheersDazza
civ104 Posted December 17, 2003 Share #36 Posted December 17, 2003 I don't know if this is the norm, but on my '70 240Z, the brake pedal arm seems to be of a fairly heavy cast material and the clutch pedal arm is of a lighter pressed form of metal.
