HS30-H Posted December 17, 2003 Author Share #49 Posted December 17, 2003 Ozlime240z,If you have any problem with me, just PM me.I think I said that I'd been straightened out as to the intention of most of the comments, and I thanked the people that PM'd me to straighten me out. Maybe that did not come across in the above posts ( at least not to you? ).Seems to me that you are just having a bit of a stir ( ? ).Did you actually read the post I made above, or did I not explain myself properly? Did you actually read the post I made above, or did I not explain myself properly? If you look at the time on the posts. ie. 9:17am on yours and 9:18am on mine. Basically you posted your post 1 minute before mine. Your post did not actually exist when I started my post (as it took me more than 1 minute to type) so you are correct I had not yet read it. Originally posted by HS30-H I was very dismayed to think that anyone would believe that this was some kind of trick or joke, and for a good while I was quite upset. However, The PM's were very encouraging and I'm very pleased and honoured that people are taking the time to look into this. I'm glad you have now stated this as it reflects positively on your personality. Originally posted by HS30-H Seems to me that you are just having a bit of a stir ( ? ). No I just find it very disappointing that you took everything to heart when I firmly believe everyone's comments were in jest. I guess it's a cultural difference. In Australia we are very light hearted and will generally take the wizz out of anything (humorously). So I was very disappointed when you took offence and started accusing people of offending you or accusing you when that was not the case. I'll post my pedal finding tonight after I dig out the digital camera and sit on my head under th dash OzLime240Z

OzLime240Z Ah, right. Now I see why it looked to me as though you had ignored my comments and were trying to stir it up. One misunderstanding on top of another. As one of the very few English members of this site who contribute fairly regularly, I can tell you that it makes me feel very self-conscious. I do try to take cultural differences into account when I post here. The fact that we have a fairly wide cross-section of nationalities on here - and therefore lots of cultural differences - makes it seem to me that its a good thing to watch what we say and how we say it. I wish I could go back and start this whole bloody thread over again on the right foot. Alan T.

Z Kid Posted December 17, 2003 Share #53 Posted December 17, 2003 Sorry about that Zedrally, Me and the dog got sidetracked by a rabbit along the way, then the dog got away, well never mind I'm back now. The 510 of mine is a 1970 model, and the pedal profile is different, when viewed it has like an S bend in it to get them to line up. However there appears to be a number on the brake (obscured by a thick layer of paint) but the clutch doesnt appear to have any stampings or identification on it. It may be a generalisation, but from what I can gather all the cars members have foudn with two numbers appear to be later cars, the pedal set I was going by was out of a 77 260Z. Zedrally Posted December 17, 2003 Share #54 Posted December 17, 2003 Well did the dog catch Xmas Dinner? At least we can rule out 510's. OK any Roadster owners and Prince owners that want to check there cars or maybe a Bluebird or 2? I'll scream if someone finds the same pedal in a Toyota Hi Ace. Z Kid Posted December 17, 2003 Share #55 Posted December 17, 2003 Nah the stupid mutt didnt catch it, its been an ongoing challenge, the rabbit sits just inside the fence and waits for the dog to chase it before ducking outside, so I thought I'd give the dog a hand and lift it over the fence. If nothing else the rabbit got a hell of a scare, and the dog had the time of its life playing hide and seek with me. It was a bit surprising that the pedals werent the same, I was kind of thinking that they may be. Oh well the hunt continues. Mind you the door handles look kind of similar
2ManyZs Posted December 18, 2003 Share #56 Posted December 18, 2003 Wonder if this is another of the "cost cutting' measures that they did back then..... Could there have been 2 suppliers of pedals since the RHD and LHD would have a slightly different bend in them due to the offset of the pedal assembly?Might have been cheaper to have 2 suppliers each doing one or the other, instead of one supplier investing in the machinery to do the second type....That's where I thought you were heading with this in the first place... since the LHD cars seem to be missing the stampings on the clutch pedal.... OzLime240Z Actually, I wasn't quite sure if Alan wasn't having a lend of us either at first, either by having us standing on our heads or starting the which came first argument in a different vein. So what I took as light hearted [& humerous comments] initially, was just that and had no idea that Alan had taken offence. Back to the Bingo! [after the past few hot days, it's cooled down so nicely today, so I promise to have a look when I get home. Alan,I 'm seeing the one armed man early in the New Year and will check out the 20 or so cars he has, if I get a square head it's all your fault! Ben Posted December 18, 2003 Share #58 Posted December 18, 2003 Ripped off! Someone stole my clutch pedal But on my Auto-brake pedal I have..... http://www.versadev.com/ben/hs30/DSC00482.JPG (3512) The 260Z pedal box my Dad will be using has nothing on the Clutch, and 4613 on the Brake. And, just for laughs, here's a shot of the oil-temperature gauge: http://www.versadev.com/ben/hs30/DSC00483.JPG Yup, the dash is in the shade & it's reading 45C Do I win anything?
