December 17, 200321 yr Author comment_61001 Thanks for all the replies guys. 2many: The shifter boot is non original and leaks quite a bit, so i'll have to get someone to have a good sniff of the air coming though it when the cars moving. Zedrally, flyer4100: Will give scotts a yell. Thanks. 1Bravo6: If scotts is still too much then I'll give the wreckers a whirl. As for that drain hole in the mudguard well, while I didn't notice one there, if it was there, I've sealed it up. I swear I have sealed up every bloody hole around the rear of this car from inside and out. Another big one was around the fuel filler and the over flow hoses. The two vent hose grommets are still good. December 19, 200321 yr comment_61277 On the rubber bits, the Old Auto Rubber Co, 148 South Pine Road, Enoggera, Q 4051, 3354 2053, will very likely have what you want. I have bought some stuff from him in the past, BTW he also sells some very nice custom made aluminium gear lever knobs. On the fumes, believe it or not mine used to be a problem but is no longer. Must have been something incidental I did, maybe the rear end of the exhaust sticks out a bit more. December 19, 200321 yr Author comment_61283 I'm thinking of experimenting with longer tips, just to see how much of a difference it makes. I've noticed a number of zeds now that have longer than usual tips. December 29, 200321 yr comment_62171 I've gone through a few tips and found that for both looks and fumes a nice size dumper solved my ploblem and I think it looks a lot neater than a long pipe sticking out at the rear. Good luck! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/9317-where-to-get-hatch-seals-at-a-reasonable-price/?&page=2#findComment-62171 Share on other sites
December 29, 200321 yr Author comment_62181 I made up a dodgy extension the other day that made it about 150mm longer. basically I got bugger all fumes upto around 80kmh. While I'm not a fan of dumpers (or extra long straight tips for that matter) I might give it a go. I'm willing to live with the look if it means I don't have to breathe that $^!# anymore. December 29, 200321 yr comment_62213 www.victoriabritish.comThey have complete seal kits with adhesive for sale for 189.95 (70-73) 239.95 (74-6/75), and 199.95 (7/75 - 78). I have heard mixed reviews about the door seals fit, however MSA in CA also offers seal kits. The victoria british one listed above covers the door, quarter windows, hatch, and hatch glass. December 29, 200321 yr Author comment_62249 By a big dumper, he means a dump tip on the exhaust, as in one that turns downwards.
