Well, I wrecked it

Hate to see the damage.... but at least it's mostly cosmetic. You are lucky you didn't damage something that cannot be replaced with either new or good used parts like the radiator support or inner fender.

I just posted on another thread about trying to fit a home made bumper behind the MSA bumper cover/air dam for this exact reason.:ermm:

I thought about bumpers but in this case the car nosed down and would have missed any bumper I would have mounted. If I had a bumper I would have been really disappointed that the bumper would have come out untouched but the hood ruined. Well, only one Z wreck every 15 years is something I can deal with.

Thanks for the condolences. I hope to have it painted this coming Spring. I'll let everyone know.

If I may, I think what 1975Yellow was pointing out is that we both shaved the rear bumper as well as left the four vent holes in the back. Originally there should be a big bulky bumper across there with two large holes for the bumper shocks to mount to the frame.

I used a replacement horn button kit for Grant steering wheels from Advance Auto. I installed a 240Z steering wheel and then fabricated a spacer that would accept the Grant horn button. It was easier to do than I thought. Horn works and everything.
