White interiors?

Recommended Posts

I owned a few nice 240's back in the 80's and have almost rebought a few times. Of course rust is my biggest concern. I almost bought a clean yellow 240 that even had a non-cracked dash but I hated the original color (now I reget that I didnt get that one). Now I'm looking at an originally orange car with a white interior. It's an automatic but otherwise would make a good restorer. I just dont know about the white interior. Do most Z fanatics like the white? do they use black carpet? This car is missing some of the rear plastic, will I be able to find good white replacements?

White and blue are the two interior colors you won't see very often. It's odd that it's originally orange though, as most often the white was used with the red exterior and orange cars are predominantly a black interior...

You should be able to find white interior panel from a specialty shop, but the hardest part might possibly be the white interior rivets that hold the panels. I thin CDM has the interior panels available in colors other than black. But, it worse came to worse, you could always use SEM dye on the panels.

I believe all the cars had black carpet originally, but Too Intense has carpets in other colors available.

Thanks for the advice. I hadnt thought about those rivets, I used to hate those things. This car's interior is so barren that I'd probably just go ahead and convert it to black. Still not sure if I'll buy it or just wait for another, this car has less rust than anything else I'll find in this price range but I dont mind cutting and welding and the dash could be better.

Hello Iman, I have a white interior and let me tell you, it is damn near impossible to find parts for. I wouldn't mind getting new door panels and I have never seen any in white, but they are out there. On a better note, the white interior is quite nice looking and it is not hard to keep clean. Take a look at my interior. Oh, and by the way 2manyzs, my carpet is brown and I believe it is original considering that when I purchased the car nothing was replaced, but I am not certain. If you would like more pics just ask.

Good luck,

Ben

My 72 is orange ext / white interior, white is nice cause non zed heads didn't even know they did white...search enough you can find all the white stuff, it all costs a lot more though.

The confusion on the orange/white vs. red/white is that my car (same color as avatar) is red110, or Datsun Red, which, LOL, is actually orange.

So if someone says red/white (as the dork did who sold me my rig in the paper) I was surprised when I showed up and it was orange....LOL.

Keep it white, it looks much better, and its cooler in the heat as well.
